I love names and name berry, I am very young (still in college) and not planning on naming any real babies in the near future. This is my first time posting, and I would love honest, open feedback on my name lists from fellow name lovers. Also middle name suggestions would be great!
For boys I love old fashioned names, bordering on grandpa names and old testament Bible names (I love the sound, meanings, and stories):
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (my grandfather’s name, my top pick if I ever have a boy, nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u])
[name_u]Asa[/name_u]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_m]Solomon[/name_m]
[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]
[name_m]Moses[/name_m]
[name_m]Miles[/name_m]
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]
[name_u]Elias[/name_u]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
My top combos for boys are [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] or [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_u]Asa[/name_u] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m].
For girls, I don’t know that I have a style but I like names that are solidly feminine without being frilly:
You have some really lovely picks here! I’m also of the young(er-ish), currently childless, and old fashioned name taste
I particularly love:
[name_u]Asa[/name_u]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] (this has been on my list for ages)
[name_m]Miles[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
And [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (the family connection is great!)
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] are nice, too.
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] (this was my #1 pick for many years)
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (one of my best friends has a little sister named [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and it warms my heart when I hear her name)
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] (I’m personally loving [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] nn [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] right now)
I love all your names except [name_m]Moses[/name_m] and [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]. [name_m]Moses[/name_m] to me is too out there and if can see some pretty gross jokes in highschool with [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] =x
My favorites are [name_u]August[/name_u],[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f].
You have a wonderful list. My personal favorites are [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (personally not attracted to [name_u]Theo[/name_u], like [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] or [name_m]Bear[/name_m]), [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_m]Miles[/name_m], [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_u]August[/name_u] (as a middle name), [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Maya[/name_f], [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] (as a middle name), and [name_u]Fable[/name_u] (as a middle name).
My favorite combo from your list is [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u].
I hadn’t thought of the teasing potential of [name_f]Giselle[/name_f], thanks for pointing that out. I am a dancer, started with classical ballet when I was 10 so I just love the connection to the ballet [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]. It might be best in the middle name spot though, all things considered.
I could see the appeal of [name_f]Jemima[/name_f], but it reminds me of Aunt [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] like the lady on the syrup, and that’s not a connection I would want for my kid. It is a lovely name though, that’s actually what drew me to [name_f]Gemma[/name_f].
Also, [name_m]Bear[/name_m] would be an adorable nickname for a little [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]!
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (my grandfather’s name, my top pick if I ever have a boy, nn [name_u]Theo[/name_u])
[name_u]Asa[/name_u]- I don’t know how to pronounce this one, but I think @ss- ah…
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]- I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m].
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]- Not a fan, I don’t see the appeal.
[name_m]Solomon[/name_m]- [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t see the appeal, definitely not as a first name.
[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]- This is a common surname, and I think the [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] story…
[name_m]Moses[/name_m]- Biblical, bible related, if you’re okay with this. Not too bad.
[name_m]Miles[/name_m]- I don’t like this… this is mean, kind of… but may I suggest kilometers? JK JK
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]- [name_f]Love[/name_f], love love love.
[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]- I do like this.
[name_u]Elias[/name_u]- Like this one too.
[name_u]August[/name_u]- Better for a girl, if you ask me.
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]- becoming popular, is popular in Austraulia
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f]- Like/dislike. I picture a spunky blonde.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]- not a big fan, but it’s nice.
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]- Nah.
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]- I like, but don’t like… clunky-er
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]- Not a fan, super popular
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]- I really like this. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn, anyone?
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]- Sweet.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]- I like, but don’t like at the same time.
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]- Cute.
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]- Too clunky.
[name_f]Maya[/name_f]- Never was a fan of this…
[name_f]India[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] (my grandmother’s name)
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f] (mn only)
[name_u]Fable[/name_u] (mn only)
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Giselle[/name_f]
I do like [name_f]India[/name_f].
I see [name_f]Ada[/name_f] coming back, and you could be the starter of the trend!
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f] is not usable… not in my book, anyways!
I don’t like fable…
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] isn’t something I’m a fan of.
I do like [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]. [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] Bunchden or however you spell it.
