In another thread of mine [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] was suggested. I use really like [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f], but took it off my list because I thought it was too frilly. I’m not sure if it goes with my other girl names. I also still think it’s a super frilly name, but I’m still drawn to it. I would love to hear other opinions on it.
What are your thoughts on [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]?
Does it fit with [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Davina[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]?
While [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] is lovely, it doesn’t really suit the other names on your list. [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] is stern, regal, and beautiful in an icy way. Your other names are more fun and remind me of [name_u]June[/name_u].
Like @alwaysben, I think of the Romanov family.
I adore [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]; but it doesn’t really “go” with any of my other names. If I ever used it, it’d probably go in the middle name spot, just because I think that’s the only way I think it could work. Personally, I don’t find the Romanov association off putting, because I studied their history from the time I was four years-old and incredibly passionate about it. So I find their story sad and yet the name honourable. It’s also way better than [name_f]Titania[/name_f].
[name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] is lovely. I love the Romanov association, don’t find it to be daunting at all! [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] goes best with [name_f]Davina[/name_f] on your list but it doesn’t really sound too bad with the other names on your list.
To me, [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] is anything but super frilly. I see it as a strong feminine name that happens to end in -a.
I agree that [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] has a different feel than your other names. Not terribly so, but it does feel a little harsher or colder than the others. I don’t know that it’s enough of a reason not to use it if you love it though.
[name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] is still on the back burner, but I’m a bit curious what you guys would choose for [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]'s middle name if her sisters were:
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Davina[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
I have grown to appreciate [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]. I had found it quite Russian, in a harsh way, not a good way, for a very long time, but in the last year or so, I’ve come across several adorable little girls named [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f], and I’ve grown to appreciate it much more! I would very much like to know a little [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]. I don’t think I’d use it personally, but I do think it’s lovely and would love to have a little [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] in my life.
I like [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] but I see it at its best with names like [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] or [name_f]Iliana[/name_f]. It goes much more with [name_f]Katerina[/name_f] than [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], for me.
I like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] together, and I like [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f], but not with them?
I find [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] very homespun and strong and sensible in a pioneer woman way, and [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] slightly more lacy and a bit more whimsical or fairytale-like. Either can be good.
[name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] is so gorgeous. It’s the ultimate east European [name_f]Princess[/name_f] name in my head, and there are so many gorgeous ones.
[name_f]Titania[/name_f] is maybe a little bit less frilly but equally lovely with added literary value.
I’m really loving [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is starting to become a new name crush of mine. I couldn’t see myself using it as a first name, but I love it as a middle.
[name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] Maslany has done a lot to “save” this name for me, but there was an awful [name_f]Tatiana[/name_f] who bullied me in third and fourth grades. I’ve always thought it sounded bratty.
