[name_f]Amara[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Maia[/name_f]
[name_f]Leila[/name_f] (Lay-la)
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Laila[/name_f] (Lie-la)

They’re nice. I would stay away from [name_f]Ella[/name_f]/[name_f]Ellie[/name_f], I know 5 of them. [name_m]Way[/name_m] too popular. [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], she will always be considered a Disney character.

[name_f]Amara[/name_f] - I like it
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] - I like it but it’s a common name and a common sound with so many others with names like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] - I like it
[name_f]Maia[/name_f] - I like it
[name_f]Leila[/name_f] ([name_m]Lay[/name_m]-la) - I like it but expect spelling issues
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - same with [name_f]Ella[/name_f] except I’m not really a fan of it as a full name
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] - It’s not my favorite but it’s a nice name
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - I like it
[name_f]Laila[/name_f] (Lie-la) - I doubt most people would look at it and think it’s pronounced Lie-la, or hear Lie-la and think it’s spelled [name_f]Laila[/name_f]. Another spelling would make your lives easier

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Nina[/name_f]. Second favorite is [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and I’ll suggest [name_f]Frida[/name_f]! Usually [name_f]Laila[/name_f] is pronounced [name_f]Layla[/name_f] and I think a lot of people would find that confusing. I love the alternative of [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] though.

[name_f]Amara[/name_f]: It’s pretty, but not really my style.
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]: I love this one, but its so popular!
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]: Gorgeous name, but I personally find the double r is awkward and hard to pronounce.
[name_f]Maia[/name_f]: [name_u]Love[/name_u] it, prefer the [name_f]Maya[/name_f] spelling but its more unique with the i which I like!
[name_f]Leila[/name_f]: It’s not my favorite out of the double L names, but it’s super cute.
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]: I have a really soft spot for this name, I prefer it as a nickname but it’s nice on its own too.
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]: I don’t like this one much.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]: Might be my favorite on this list along with [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]!
[name_f]Laila[/name_f]: I knew a girl with this name but pronounced lay-la, so that was how I read it. If it’s to be pronounced lie-la, how about [name_f]Lila[/name_f] or [name_f]Lyla[/name_f]?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Here are my thoughts:

[name_f]Amara[/name_f]-I like [name_f]Mara[/name_f], but for some reason don’t care for [name_f]Amara[/name_f]. I think it may be a personal association. [name_m]Just[/name_m] reminds me of a snobby girl.

[name_f]Ella[/name_f]-I like it. It reminds me of a flapper girl, which is adorable. Kind of over done these days, and I also think that it’s a little nick-namey. Maybe [name_f]Estella[/name_f], [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] or Miriella nn [name_f]Ella[/name_f].

[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]-This is nice, but I’m getting a little tired of hearing it. Maybe it’s just on this site, and not as much in real life. Also, I think it’s a little hard to say.

[name_f]Maia[/name_f]-I like this. I prefer this spelling to [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. Still seems obviously My-uh, right?

[name_f]Leila[/name_f] ([name_m]Lay[/name_m]-la)-This is kind of tired these days. And the pronunciation needing to be explained could get annoying. Maybe just [name_f]Layla[/name_f]?

[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-Super cute as a nn , although quite over done.

[name_f]Nina[/name_f]-This has a bad personal association. :-?

[name_f]Freya[/name_f]-This is lovely.

[name_f]Laila[/name_f] (Lie-la)-Now, that looks like [name_m]Lay[/name_m]-luh to me. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Lila[/name_f]? Very sweet.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

[name_f]Amara[/name_f] - I like it. Nice sound, would suit various personality types.
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] - Use to be my favourite girls name when I was a teenager (loong time ago) but it had a very popular period which put me off it. I also have decided that I don’t enjoy names ending in “la”
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] - I like it. I like the Disney association and nickname [name_u]Rory[/name_u]
[name_f]Maia[/name_f] - I like it a lot. Short and sweet
[name_f]Leila[/name_f] ([name_m]Lay[/name_m]-la) - I don’t like it. Too “lala”
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - I don’t like. Too common not “strong” enough
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] - I really like it! Underrated
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - I like it. Seems to be becoming popular? I have a soft spot for F names
[name_f]Laila[/name_f] (Lie-la) - I don’t like it. too “lala” again

[name_f]Amara[/name_f] - It’s soft and feminine, but I don’t have any issue with it. I prefer similar names [name_f]Marla[/name_f] and [name_f]Mara[/name_f].
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] - Classic & popular. Can’t go wrong with it.
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] - I really like this name, however it can be a bit of a mouthful to say, especially with an accent like mine.
[name_f]Maia[/name_f] - I have negative associations with this name but it’s perfectly fine.
[name_f]Leila[/name_f] ([name_m]Lay[/name_m]-la) - This is my favourite version of [name_f]Layla[/name_f], I think it is so pretty and should be used more, but on the other hand it’s kind of a hidden gem.
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - I like it being used as a nickname, but not as a full name. Cute, though.
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] - Negative associations. I truly dislike someone with this name so I can’t comment an unbiased opinion.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - I think this name is going to get popular again soon. It’s nice.
[name_f]Laila[/name_f] (Lie-la) I feel like this would get mispronounced a lot. I prefer [name_f]Leila[/name_f], but this spelling is nice.

[name_f]Amara[/name_f] - sweet, charming and delicate yet strong

[name_f]Ella[/name_f] - steady and safe

[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] -starry and celestial but I occasionally find it hard to say

[name_f]Maia[/name_f] -pretty, fresh and bright!

[name_f]Leila[/name_f] -mysterious, interesting yet delicate-its lovely

[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] -cute but popular

[name_f]Nina[/name_f] -lively, sweet and charming

[name_f]Freya[/name_f] -strong and mystical though popular

[name_f]Laila[/name_f] -love the sounds of [name_m]Ly[/name_m]-luh but I prefer the [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] or [name_f]Lila[/name_f] spelling as I’d pn this [name_m]Lay[/name_m]-luh

I have to say I am not a fan of [name_f]Leila[/name_f]/[name_f]Laila[/name_f] as it is incredibly common and you will inevitably find that people have issues with pronunciation that you prefer. [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] is pretty and I don’t automatically see it as a princess/Disney name. I also like that it is rather feminine, and yet also allows for a more neutral nickname of [name_u]Rory[/name_u].

[name_f]Amara[/name_f] - I feel like I should like this one. It’s got lots of sounds I like. But for some reason I don’t care for it. Nothing wrong with t though.
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] - lovely sweet name. Personally I’d prefer this as a nickname, but [name_f]Ella[/name_f] works as a stand-alone. A longer names would give her a fallback if there was another [name_f]Ella[/name_f] in the classroom.
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] - Beautiful name, but can sound a little awkward.
[name_f]Maia[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Maia[/name_f], though it reminds me of someone I didn’t like.
[name_f]Leila[/name_f] ([name_m]Lay[/name_m]-la) - could cause spelling and pronunciation confusion. I would pronounce it lie-la or lee-la. For this pronunciation, I would go for [name_f]Layla[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - prefer [name_f]Ella[/name_f] or longer [name_f]El[/name_f]- name. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], etc. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] also has bad associations to me.
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] - not particular a fan, for no real reason
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - nice, but not my style
[name_f]Laila[/name_f] (Lie-la) - I would be inclined to pronounce this as lay-la. [name_f]Leila[/name_f] seems more like the pronunciation wanted here.

[name_f]Amara[/name_f]: not my style, but know a lovely nurse with this name so positive associations.
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]: cute
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]: saying the “ror” part maks me feel like I have cottonballs in my mouth. I want to love it but really find it so difficult to say.
[name_f]Maia[/name_f]: I have so many positive associations with [name_f]Maia[/name_f]/[name_f]Maya[/name_f]. [name_f]Maia[/name_f] is fresher though, and also l love [name_f]Maia[/name_f] & [name_u]Alex[/name_u] Shibutani!
[name_f]Leila[/name_f]: love it, super cute
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]: would use as a nickname but not as a full name
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]: not my style but a nice name with positive associations for me
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]: can’t put my finger on why, but I’m really not a fan of this. It’s kind of witch-y feeling but that’s not exactly why I don’t like it
[name_f]Laila[/name_f]: I would pronounce this like [name_f]Leila[/name_f]. For the LIE-la pronunciation, I would spell it [name_f]Lila[/name_f], which I think is a nice name though I prefer other L names.

I really like [name_f]Amara[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] (this spelling as I think [name_f]Laila[/name_f] would be mispronounced and it looks confusing).

[name_f]Amara[/name_f] - Beautiful
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], but I think it’s entirely too popular
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] - I love this name. I agree with others that the double r is complex, but still beautiful.
[name_f]Maia[/name_f] - This name is so pretty and girl. Really sweet.
[name_f]Leila[/name_f] ([name_m]Lay[/name_m]-la) - Not my favorite, still pretty and girly, but I wouldn’t use it.
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - I prefer this one to [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. It’s so cute.
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] - My least favorite from your list. I really don’t like this name.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - My absolute favorite from your list. This one is actually on my list. So gorgeous!
[name_f]Laila[/name_f] (Lie-la) - Another favorite. I prefer the [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] spelling, but it’s absolutely stunning either way.

[name_f]Amara[/name_f]- never understood the appeal
[name_f]Ella[/name_f]- love this. It is popular but you can have it short for something too. So she will get 2 names! [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] Elisabella [name_f]Annabella[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]- too much to say
[name_f]Maia[/name_f]- love this. But I do love the meaning of [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] and [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] better.
[name_f]Gaia[/name_f] means goddess of the earth and [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] means the sea
[name_f]Leila[/name_f] And [name_f]Laila[/name_f] sound like weird sounds to me. Sorry
Again [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] can go in the category if [name_f]Ella[/name_f] as another nm
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]- never understood the appeal sorry
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - love this! A goddess name

I love your list! [name_f]Ella[/name_f], while pretty, is extremely popular. I know quite a few as well. [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is not my favorite either, but it’s not a bad name. [name_f]Amara[/name_f], [name_f]Nina[/name_f] an [name_f]Maia[/name_f] are my favorites.

I like them all, especially [name_f]Maia[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Leila[/name_f], and [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]. I would expect spelling variances with [name_f]Leila[/name_f] and [name_f]Laila[/name_f] (I’d probably use [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] to get the pronunciation you want, instead of [name_f]Laila[/name_f]) and I’m not crazy about [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] because it feels incomplete and very nicknamey next to the rest. Overall a very pretty list.

Thank you to all who commented!

To clarify the reason why I chose the [name_f]Laila[/name_f] and [name_f]Leila[/name_f] spellings: it’s the spelling for proper pronunciation in Finland; -ai- is pronounced “eye” in Finnish and -ei- is “a”.

[name_f]Amara[/name_f] - I’ve tried for YEARS to get myself into [name_f]Amara[/name_f], and I just can’t seem to. I knew one growing up who was rather horrendous so I’ve never quite gotten past that, I suppose. I love that it’s an alternative to [name_f]Grace[/name_f] (shared meaning, from what I’ve found online), but I just can’t get myself to love it.

[name_f]Ella[/name_f] - One of my all-time favourite choices, I adore [name_f]Ella[/name_f]! It’s simply stunning. It’s very simplistic and I know some may think it’s more plain, but personally I just love it.

[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] - I used to find this a bit too tricky to say for the longest time, but I have always loved it. I’m still a little on the fence about it on my own list, just because it took me 22 years to be able to pronounce it confidently, but I love it on other people’s lists. And, I adore the Disney connection. It’s probably my runner-up to [name_f]Ella[/name_f] from your list!

[name_f]Maia[/name_f] - I go back and forth on [name_f]Maia[/name_f]/[name_f]Maya[/name_f]/[name_f]Mya[/name_f]. Neither [name_f]Maia[/name_f] nor [name_f]Maya[/name_f] look “correct” to me (even though I know they’re both totally legitimate spellings), but then I dislike the look of [name_f]Mya[/name_f]. If I had to choose though, [name_f]Maia[/name_f] looks the most jarring to me, probably because I’d never seen it spelled this way until about 5 years ago. I’m personally not sold on it.

[name_f]Leila[/name_f] ([name_m]Lay[/name_m]-la) - So at first I was a bit confused by the pronunciation of [name_f]Leila[/name_f] and [name_f]Laila[/name_f] on your lists, but now that you’ve cleared that up, it makes perfect sense. I think [name_f]Leila[/name_f] works just fine (though I do prefer [name_f]Layla[/name_f]) in this case, and I love the name.

[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - I know this is weird, because I love [name_f]EL[/name_f]- names ([name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], etc.) but I don’t love [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. I used to think it was really nice but somewhere along the line I fell out of love with it pretty quickly, and now I just don’t see the appeal. It does make for a darling NN choice though.

[name_f]Nina[/name_f] - I definitely am the odd one out here, because I pronounce it wrong (my great aunt was [name_f]Nina[/name_f], pn [name_m]NYE[/name_m]-nah, and I’ve never been able to shake that), but I strongly dislike how it sounds. I don’t love NEE-nah either, but because my 96 year old (when she passed) great great aunt was [name_f]Nina[/name_f], I just can’t get into it.

[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - I used to adore [name_f]Freya[/name_f] but I’ve gotten quite bored with it as I see it on NB all the time, and have done for a few years now. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t get me wrong, it’s still a pretty choice, but one I’ve grown awfully tired of seeing.

[name_f]Laila[/name_f] (Lie-la) - I think I prefer Lie-la to [name_m]Lay[/name_m]-la at the moment, and while I do like this spelling, I can’t help but prefer [name_f]Lila/name_f or [name_f]Lyla/name_f. [name_f]Laila[/name_f] still just looks so off to me, but maybe I could get used to it. I feel like in Finland though you wouldn’t likely have any issues!
