Only 5 more weeks to go and I’m still unsure about a middle name. We have decided on [name]Kyra[/name] (pronounced like [name]Tyra[/name], but with a K) and our last name starts with a “C”, is two syllables and has 2 letter t’s in the middle.
Our daughter’s name is [name]Karis[/name] [name]Adrianna[/name] and I’d like something that pairs well with hers.
Thank you for your feedback! I really appreciate it!
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Lucille[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name], [name]Noelle[/name] & [name]Juliet[/name]! In fact, [name]Juliet[/name] has been on our “maybe” list for awhile.
My husband is madly in love with the name [name]Kyra[/name]. I have previously mentioned to him that this name sounds very similar to [name]Karis[/name] but it’s his absolute favorite and he’s not budging. I prefer [name]Eleni[/name], which he seems to dislike more and more.
I don’t mind the mispronunciation issue. My name isn’t terribly complicated and gets mispronounced a lot. My daughter’s ([name]Karis[/name]) name is often mispronounced, too.
Our issue is that we need a girl’s name that starts with K and is of Greek origin. There are many others that we like but they seem like “too much.”
Again, thanks so much for your feedback! Hoping to get some more ideas!
[name]Glad[/name] you guys have talked over the mispronunciation thing; the only girls I know with this name all say [name]Keer[/name]-a. Have you considered [name]Kiley[/name]/[name]Kylie[/name] or [name]Kyla[/name]? They’ve got a really similar sound and look to [name]Kyra[/name], but will avoid a lot of the pronunciation and similarity-to-[name]Karis[/name] problems.
Anyway, what about [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Eleni[/name]? He gets his fave and you get yours. [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Brielle[/name], [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Lillian[/name], [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Primrose[/name] or [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Penrose[/name], or [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Felicity[/name] are all pretty, too. [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name] and [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] are lovely, too.
This is fantastic! Thank you so much for all these great ideas! It’s no nice to get some objective opinions!
We actually have a family member named [name]Kiley[/name] and we aren’t too fond of [name]Kyla[/name].
Honestly, do you really think [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Eleni[/name] sounds good together? It’s funny because my husband actually suggested it but I questioned if it sounded good together. I love [name]Eleni[/name] and it makes me a little sad that he’s so against it as a first name. If I had my way, the name would be [name]Eleni[/name] [name]Julianna[/name]. He “liked” it before but it’s become a dislike for him now.
I also love [name]Kyra[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]! I don’t know if I could convince him of that one but it’s worth trying.
We have a son whose name starts with a “C.” He’s named after his Father and Grandfather and came after my daughter. We didn’t plan to have children with the same sounding first initial! Hubby thinks we need to carry this on (K’s for girls & C’s for boys) or the other names will seem like afterthoughts. I disagree but he feels strongly enough about it that he’s not budging and I can work with it.
