[name]Hi[/name] there- I am pg with my first child, a girl, due in [name]July[/name] and am having some trouble on names. DH is in the [name]Army[/name], is deployed and has given me full naming honors which I thought would be a dream, but is actually making me really nervous
I would [name]LOVE[/name] some honest opinions on my top contenders!
[name]Ainsley[/name] (or [name]Ansley[/name])- I really like this one but iāve had some people say it reminds them of āanusā which is obviously less than desirable
[name]Brenna[/name]- This has always been on my list, I love it, but for some reason when I pictured my family in my head I never pictured my first child with this name, I know that probably sounds strange, but I always pictured Daughter #2 with this nameā¦
[name]Charlotte[/name] (and call her [name]Charli[/name]) I think this is super sweet, but I am worried about popularity, [name]Charlotte[/name] is near the top but what bothers me even more is iām seeing more and more girl [name]Charlie[/name]'s. I would just use [name]Charli[/name] as a nickname, but its still like āeh, does it bother me? I donāt knowā
My favorite out of the three you mentioned is definitely [name]Charlotte[/name]. I think its timeless and classy and it ages well. The other two I canāt picture really aging well (I canāt imagine a grown women named [name]Ainsley[/name]). Go with your gut, whichever you love the most should be the one you pick. Good luck!
[name]Ainsley[/name] does bring to mind anus, sorry. Also, anal, I can see āAnal [name]Ainsley[/name]ā being a teasing term.
[name]Brenna[/name] I really love, I think itās so pretty, and a lovely sound. I understand what you mean by picturing daughter #2 as [name]Brenna[/name]. Thatās how I picture [name]Victoria[/name], never my first daughter, always my second.
[name]Charlotte[/name] is a lovely name, I love it a lot. Itās very commonly mentioned, so itās lacking in specialness as a first name for me. I love the nn [name]Charli[/name]/[name]Charlie[/name]/[name]Charley[/name] etc.
[name]Brenna[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] would be the perfect combo imo, you can still call her [name]Charli[/name] every now and again as well. I know a [name]Taylor[/name] [name]Rose[/name] who is called [name]Rosie[/name] by her close family.
[name]Ainsley[/name] - just not a personal fan of this oneā¦
[name]Brenna[/name] - very spunky.
[name]Charlotte[/name] - absolutely gorgeous. I also love the nicknae [name]Lottie[/name].
I really like [name]Ainsley[/name]. I think itās feminine and kind of sweet while still maintaining an adult sound. It works for a baby and a lawyer. It has a nice balance between strong and sweet.
[name]Brenna[/name] is very pretty. It feels on trend without being trendy or popular. Itās got a lovely flow and itās not over the top or made up. I think itās a great choice.
[name]Charlotte[/name] is one of my favorite names. I know itās quite popular, but I think thatās for good reason. Itās gorgeous, classic, feminine, and [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Bronte[/name] is a great āheroineā. I think [name]Charlotte[/name] is a perfect name. I donāt love [name]Charli[/name], though. Personally I prefer [name]Lottie[/name] or [name]Lola[/name], or even just [name]Char[/name].
[name]Ainsley[/name] (or [name]Ansley[/name])- 99% the -ley names for girls sound trendy and tired to me.
[name]Brenna[/name]- This is a fine choice. I think you will always feel a bit odd if you donāt save it for your second daughter though.
[name]Charlotte[/name] (and call her [name]Charli[/name]) - A strong choice, but very popular at the moment and honestly likely to be popular at every [name]Army[/name] base you ever live on. Itās classic, as PPās argue, and thatās true, but some classic names are underused and some are very āinā at the moment. First group would be [name]Jane[/name], [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Martha[/name] and second group would be [name]Emily[/name], [name]Hannah[/name], and yes, [name]Charlotte[/name]. That doesnāt make it a bad name though.

[name]Claire[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Halle[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Ainsley[/name] doesnāt bring anus to mind for me. [name]Brenna[/name] is fantastic. I like [name]Charlotte[/name] but I think itās popularity is increasing.
Two things to consider. If you love [name]Brenna[/name], you may want to use it for this baby because who is to say that there will be a second daughter. [name]Future[/name] pregnancies may be boys. You will have to decide which is worse - using [name]Brenna[/name] for your first daughter when you pictured for a second daughter or possibily never using it.
That said, if you have your set on holding onto [name]Brenna[/name] for a second daughter, then I think you should select a name for this daughter that goes well with [name]Brenna[/name]. [name]Ainsley[/name] goes better with [name]Brenna[/name] than [name]Charlotte[/name] does which is more old fashioned and feminine.
You could try something similar to [name]Ainsley[/name] like [name]Paisley[/name]. Or something similar to [name]Charley[/name] like [name]Carley[/name] or [name]Marley[/name]. Or an Irish sounding name like [name]Molly[/name], [name]Shea[/name], [name]Shannon[/name].
I like [name]Ainsley[/name] I dont think of anus either. But kids might make the connection.
If your worried about [name]Charlotte[/name] being too popular, as an alternate I think [name]Scarlett[/name] sounds very similar yet not as popular (atleast where im from)
I would go with [name]Brenna[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]. I know what you mean by picturing a second daughter named [name]Brenna[/name], but you may have boys in future pregnancies. If it were me, I would regret not using a name I loved to āsaveā it for a future child.
My vote goes for [name]Brenna[/name]. If you love it so much (understandably so; itās lovely), I think you should go for it, especially since you may not have another daughter to āsaveā it for (even if you have ten future kids, they might all be boys). [name]Charlotte[/name] is a beautiful name, but itās skyrocketing in popularity - as others have said, [name]Brenna[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] is a lovely way of using both names. [name]Ainsley[/name] doesnāt do anything for me personally.
[name]Brenna[/name] - I really love this name. I think it is lovely and you canāt go wrong with it.
[name]Charlotte[/name] - I used to think [name]Charlotte[/name] nn [name]Charlie[/name] (it looks better with the āeā at the end imo) was super sweet. Now I am kind of tired of it, and I feel like [name]Charlie[/name] has lost a lot of its masculinity due to it being used on girls. [name]Charlotte[/name] itself is a classic name and you canāt go wrong with it.
[name]Ainsley[/name] doesnāt really remind me of anus, but I do find that the āainsā part of the name sounds whiny and the āleyā ending sounds overused and tired. Very few names can make a āleyā ending sound fresh and classy.
[name]Ainsley[/name] - This feels masculine to me because my only association with the name is the TV chef [name]Ainsley[/name] [name]Harriott[/name]. [name]Ansley[/name] feels a little more made up than [name]Ainsley[/name] (I presume theyāre pronounced differently) but I do like the potential nn [name]Annie[/name] with [name]Ansley[/name].
[name]Brenna[/name] - Iāve never liked the [name]Bree[/name]- sound in names, though [name]Brenna[/name] isnāt as bad to me as other names as in my accent itās a shorter āeā sound which I can tolerate. However it reminds me of the boysā names [name]Brendan[/name] and [name]Brennan[/name], and looks just like [name]Brennan[/name] is missing itās final letter.
[name]Charlotte[/name] - I like [name]Charlotte[/name], I think itās a beautiful name, and I actually prefer [name]Charlie[/name] on a boy to a girl. If sheās going to be [name]Charli[/name] constantly itās different to having [name]Charli[/name] as an occasional nickname as to whether it would bother you, and you need to decide that yourself. Itās my favourite of your picks though.
I love [name]Charlotte[/name]. However, it is becoming very popular. I think [name]Brenna[/name] is a great Irish name. [name]Ainsley[/name] just makes me think of Anus. So, [name]Charlotte[/name] or [name]Brenna[/name].
[name]Ainsley[/name] sounds weak to me and names beginning with āBrā are all over the place. That leaves [name]Charlotte[/name] nn [name]Charli[/name]. I donāt think you can go wrong with the classic and elegant beauty of [name]Charlotte[/name]. Yeah, itās popular but I think itās the only one of your choices that ages well.

We were verry close to using [name]Brenna[/name] for our second daughter. I still love it. She would have been [name]Brenna[/name] [name]Kathleen[/name] or [name]Brenna[/name] [name]Rose[/name] back then. She is 12 now. Lol
