Honest thoughts on Laszlo?

I’ve been slowly falling in love with the name [name]Laszlo[/name] and now I think I’m ready to add it to my list! But I’m kind of curious as to what others think of it? I am still debating whether to spell it [name]Laszlo[/name] or [name]Lazlo[/name] (which one do you prefer? Which spelling do you think people would spell correctly more often?).

Thoughts?

PS: If you have any middle name suggestions I would really appreciate it!

[name]Laszlo[/name] is a really quirky and cute name. I don’t think I would hear it often in [name]Canada[/name] (not that I’m Canadian). It doesn’t seem to be catching on anywhere in [name]California[/name], though. Haha, I have yet to meet a [name]Laszlo[/name] here!

Many may find it a little off-putting with the “sz” part in the middle. Personally, I think it gives it character and I’m a big fan of original spellings for names.

By the way, congratulations and best to you in [name]September[/name]!

It does kind of throw me because I don’t know exactly how to say it. But maybe if I heard it pronounced.

I’d think it was really weird if you weren’t Hungarian - and i only recognize it as such b/c i have Hungarian blood.

I really like the original spelling.

Pronunciation: LAHS-zloh

I’m not Hungarian and it doesn’t seem weird to me at all. I really like it actually! It’s different without being “out there”, and has the cool z letter and o ending. I may have to add it to my own favorites list! Also, the nickname Laz is adorable.

I like either spelling, though I’m partial to [name]Laszlo[/name], I think. And the pronunciation, at least for me, was obvious. Then again, I am familiar with the name so maybe it’s an issue for anyone who hasn’t seen Casablanca.

This name is really growing on me. I think it’s very peppy and handsome. I think a boy would love it and he could really grow into it as well. I think Laz is a great nn also. I prefer the [name]Laszlo[/name] spelling. [name]Lazlo[/name] almost looks made up to me.
