So I want your honest opinion on the name Fox for a boy. TIA
I think [name_u]Fox[/name_u] is a cool nature name with an outdoorsy boho vibe but I think it’s a name I would struggle to pull off. I don’t think personally I would name my son [name_u]Fox[/name_u] even though I definitely admire the name for me it is a GP as I cannot see a child of mine being named [name_u]Fox[/name_u] the name feels to brave. I think [name_u]Fox[/name_u] is great if you can embrace the coolness!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Fox[/name_u]! It is my grandpa’s middle name (after his mother’s maiden name) so admittedly, I grew up always thinking of it as a name and it probably feels more “normal” to me than most. Besides associating it with my grandpa though, I do love short, strong, nature names and I think it has a very handsome/clever vibe!
I think it sounds cool and edgy in certain combos but I struggle to see it as an actual name. The animal isn’t exactly cute and cuddly. I live in a rural area where hunting is common…I’ve seen very terrifying foxes.
So short answer is it can make some whimsical combos but has a violent vibe to it, to me.
[name_f]My[/name_f] DH likes it a lot! I honestly am not a fan and would probably only use it as a middle to compromise with him if it came down too it. It’s just not my style, but I’ve been seeing it come up a lot lately so it must be getting more popular.
I think it might be doable. I’ve heard [name_m]Bear[/name_m] a few times, so why not [name_u]Fox[/name_u].
Thinking ahead to junior high and high school…Fox does sound a little similar to a curse word.
I personally prefer [name_m]Felix[/name_m], but [name_u]Fox[/name_u] is okay.
I don’t like it. Sounds more sexy than nature themed to me. [name_m]Just[/name_m] too silly.
I like the sound of it, but prefer it as a cool middle name. I would definitely use it as a middle name. I struggle to picture a professional adult with this name.
[name_u]Fox[/name_u] is cool and fun. It has a playful but strong vibe
I love foxes so I like it. Personally, would I want to be named [name_u]Fox[/name_u]? No. But someone else might. And it is a cool word.
I love [name_u]Fox[/name_u], but definitely only as a middle. I think it might be quite hard to wear as a first name.
I have a hard time seeing it as a first but feel it could work really well as a middle
I love Fox!!
If [name_u]Wren[/name_u] and [name_u]Robin[/name_u] can be regularised and used frequently then so can [name_u]Fox[/name_u].
It gives me rugged, outdoorsy & easy going vibes. Definitely useable.
Fox is my nephew’s name. It makes me think of Fox Mulder. I think it’s a perfectly nice name. In The X-Files they talk about him being made fun of on occasion because of his name, but I think times have changed enough that it wouldn’t garner any more bullying than any other name would.
I know a little [name_u]Fox[/name_u]! It honestly suits him so well and wears really well in the playground etc.
I really want to like it. However, the traits associated with foxes (at least in the US) are either sneaky and deceitful or somewhat sexual. I love [name_u]Wolf[/name_u] though!
I’ve only ever heard it as a last name but it could work as a first name
I’m not sure if this slang is still current (I’m old, lol!) but back in my day “fox” was a sexualizing slang term for an attractive person. Because of this I personally would not feel comfortable using it.
I would go with [name_m]Felix[/name_m] or [name_u]Wolf[/name_u].
I prefer it as a middle. I have a hard time imagining calling somebody by [name_u]Fox[/name_u].
