[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone! I’m usually not a fan of names that start with b for little girls, but I’ve recently fallen in love with the name [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]. I think it’s beautiful unique without being too out there. I don’t know anyone with the name, which is fun! What are your general thoughts on [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]? Any suggestions for middle names or sibling names? Would it bother you if the ending of a name you liked was similar to the ending of your last name? That is my only concern with [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]. On the other hand, the beginning of my paternal grandfather’s name was similar to the ending of our last name, and he pulled off his name so well. I also think it would be special to give a future daughter a name with a similar sound to his. If this is too much, what are some alternatives? Is [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] usable in this situation?
Some combinations I like are:
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] +
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
Any feedback you can offer would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!
I love [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. I also like brynn or the more frilly brynlee. [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] is nice but very [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] sounding
I think [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], or [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] are the best
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] has a sweet sound! [name_u]Bright[/name_u] and fresh!
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] are lovely!
It depends on the other sounds in your name and how rhymey it is.
For example, [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_m]Connell[/name_m], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_m]Russell[/name_m], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_u]Kendall[/name_u] etc sound okay to me, but [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_u]Odell[/name_u], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_u]Bell[/name_u], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] Snell, [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] Labelle sound a bit rhymey.
But again, it could work if you think it sounds okay!
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Lena[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Kaia[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Alina[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_u]Robin[/name_u]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_u]Noah[/name_u]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_u]Luca[/name_u]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_m]Alec[/name_m]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]
@Fabfitfun77 Thank you so much! I love [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. I haven’t pinpointed it yet, but there is something special about it.
Thank you again!
Not my usual style, but really growing on me! It has some lovely nickname choices too like [name_f]Bri[/name_f] (Bree), [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], and [name_f]Belle[/name_f] / [name_f]Bel[/name_f].
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] would have to be my favourite!
@Greyblue Thank you so much! The similar sound is an -ell sound so maybe that works beat the beginning of the name instead of the end? What are your thoughts on this? I also really like [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] but not the nickname [name_u]Gabby[/name_u]. Now that I think about it, my full name has a similar l sound at the end, although it’s slightly different than the one in [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]. I think other options could be:
[name_f]Eliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] +
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
@lilyofthevale Thank you so much! I love [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Elle[/name_f] especially! I feel like there’s something a little unexpected about it and I really like that It’s so sweet! I like [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] too!
Thank you again!
Soundwise, I think that [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] is a good combination of pretty and gritty; the strong Br start with the delicate ‘ielle’ ending. I do not know anyone with this name either.
Sometimes if the number of syllables is the same, or there are other similarities, I think names can become too rhymey with the same ending, but there are many combinations where this would not bother me. E.g. [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_m]Powell[/name_m] sounds good to me & [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_u]Neil[/name_u] does not.
@EdgeOfTheMeadow Thank you so much! The syllable count is a good way make this decision that I hadn’t thought of. In light of the last names you listed, I think it might bed good to keep [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] on my list, but consider other similar names. The endings are just bothering me, as much as I love the name. I do think some middle names could offset the awkwardness though! Maybe a short middle name that could be used together with the first name would help?
From your suggestions, I love [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]!
I think it depends on the other sounds/emphasis in the surname - it could work - I’d recommend saying it over to yourself, write it down, see if it sounds okay to you.
[name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] ‘Brielle’ s a lovely idea!
@Greyblue Thank you so much! I will absolutely do this. I like [name_f]Gabriella[/name_f] and [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] more than [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] for some strange reason, I really don’t know why. I love both full names and think there are several options to ensure she doesn’t get called [name_u]Gabby[/name_u].
I like [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], it’s sweet familiar but not overly popular. I know one personality.
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] are my favorite combos.
[name_f]My[/name_f] daughter’s name actually rhymes with our last name. Her name is 4 syllables and her last name is 1 and it doesn’t sound bad. We debated it for a while but decided we loved her name enough that it didn’t matter to us. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband’s grandmother name rhymes too and it’s never bothered her.
@PrincessShannon Thank you so much! I really love [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] with [name_f]Brielle[/name_f]. That is so good to know. I really appreciate the reassurance. Im sure your daughter carries her name beautifully! I like several memes that rhyme with my last name, but I never felt they were options because they rhyme slightly: (Arielle is another one I love.) But after reading this, I am thinking that maybe I have more options than I thought.
I think [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] is really pretty! It’s familiar while still being fairly unique. I love the strong B in the beginning with the dainty -elle syllable, too. As for a similar sounding last name, I wouldn’t worry unless it was a direct rhyme, like [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] Well.
Some middle name ideas (sorry for any repeats!)…
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Christine[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_u]Rose[/name_u]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Corinne[/name_f]
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Jolie[/name_f]
@Indigoskies Thank you so much! I agree. I love that [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] is familiar but not a name I hear often at all. For b names, I also love [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], but I’m finding that [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] feels more like me. I love -elle or -el names and love that this one isn’t as popular as others while also not being so unique that she’d stand out in a potentially negative way. [name_f]My[/name_f] last name is two syllables so you don’t automatically jump to the part that rhymes, and that makes me feel more comfortable about possibly using it.
From your suggestions, I love:
Lots of great choices. I love [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] daughter’s middle name is [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]. I would probably not use [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] because of the [name_f]Elle[/name_f] in [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] runs into the [name_f]El[/name_f] in [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] second choice would be [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] or [name_f]Brielle[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. I am loving all V names lately.
