honesty only!!

I want honest opinions only- dont be afraid to insult me, Id rather know true opinions now before I actually name my daughter this…

[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Davison[/name] ____

[name]Lydia[/name] & [name]Davison[/name] would be the middle names.

or…
[name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name]

I have never heard [name]Sawyer[/name] for a girl and I’m not sure at all? My old boyfriend’s surname was [name]Sawyer[/name] so it is very masculine to me.

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Lydia[/name], and [name]Elizabeth[/name]/[name]Elisabeth[/name] is a beautiful classic. I’m not wild about [name]Davison[/name], but if it has meaning to you then don’t hesitate to use it.

[name]Sawyer[/name] - I am usually not a fan of masculine names on girls, or of surname names in general. However, this and [name]Sailor[/name] are the exceptions to the rule; I can picture [name]Sawyer[/name] being really sweet on a little girl, and with names like [name]Harper[/name] popular on girls now, I don’t think she would suffer too many people assuming she is a boy. I find it difficult to imagine it on an adult, but only because I’ve never met one. If I try hard, I can. My only worry is that, because surname names are currently so popular, this name would date.

You may also like [name]Clover[/name] or [name]Juniper[/name], both of which I think are really sweet, pretty and spunky.

Good luck!

I don’t like [name]Sawyer[/name] for a girl. [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Davison[/name] or [name]Elizabeth[/name] are fine for middle names and flow well.

I adore [name]Sawyer[/name]! On boys and girls, it’s fabulous in my opinion.

I think Twinkle said it best, I don’t really like [name]Davison[/name] but if it’s meaningful then of course it should be included

I’m the exact opposite - I know/know of three girl Sawyers, the only male Sawyers I know are fictional - [name]Tom[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Sawyer[/name] from LOST

I love the name [name]Sawyer[/name], but I am afraid I only like it on a boy. If you are going to use it for a girl, I would go with [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], and not [name]Davison[/name]. [name]Davison[/name] is also too masculine and seeing both [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Davison[/name], I would question whether or not you named your son [name]Lydia[/name]. [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] on its own makes it more feminine in my opinion, however, I would still personally only use [name]Sawyer[/name] for a boy. Sorry. :frowning:

[name]Do[/name] you think of Soya bean when you hear [name]Sawyer[/name]?

It sounds like you would like an unisex name for the first name with a pretty classical name to follow and a family name for special meaning.

Here are some names that may appeal to you

[name]Harper[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name]
[name]Delaney[/name]
[name]Bellamy[/name]
[name]Reese[/name]
[name]Joni[/name]
[name]Lindsay[/name]
[name]Finley[/name]
[name]Alexis[/name]
[name]Courtney[/name]
[name]Jordan[/name] (dated)
[name]Peta[/name]
[name]Darcy[/name]
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Amity[/name]
[name]Arden[/name]
[name]Fleur[/name] (love this name)

or names that can be shortened to boy’s nn’s eg

[name]Alexandra[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] nn [name]Alex[/name]
[name]Georgina[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] nn [name]Georgie[/name]
[name]Nicole[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] nn [name]Nick[/name] or [name]Cole[/name]

I don’t like [name]Sawyer[/name] for a girl, a boy, or even as a surname. I dislike it most on a girl, though. Why would you want to name your daughter something that means “one who cuts wood”? Surname names are part of a huge trend, so the name will likely be dated and feel like [name]Ashley[/name], [name]Courtney[/name], and other similar names. She’ll also constantly be mistaken for a boy, something that I, personally, would not like to go through life with. [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Elisabeth[/name] are gorgeous names ([name]Lydia[/name] is in my top 5) that will suit your daughter much better as an adult. There’s my honesty!

[name]Sawyer[/name] makes me think of either the sewers, or soy sauce.
Did you say [name]Davison[/name] is going to be a middle name? I thought that was a last name. And if its not a last name, I deffinitely wouldnt make it as a girls name.
I like [name]Lydia[/name] though its pretty

I like [name]Sawyer[/name] for a girl, I have never heard it before but i really do like it. I would chose [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] just so it seems a little more girly. CUTE!!!

i kind of go both ways with sawyer… on one hand i find it adorable and think it would be so cute on a little girl. BUT on the other hand i agree with another poster that it may become dated. i’m also having a hard time imagining it on a grown adult woman.
if you do go with sawyer i do agree that davison makes sawyer seem more masculine which you might want to avoid and lydia and elizabeth, while i like individually, don’t seem to pair well together for me. i seem to stumble over them when i say them due to the ls and lydia ending in a vowel sound and elizabeth starting with a similar vowel sound.

I think “male” names on girls can work well. (My name is [name]Sheridan[/name] for example :o) However, I think it is imperative to use feminine middle names should you go with a more masculine first name! I am [name]Sheridan[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. So I think [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name] is beautiful. I also think I prefer [name]Lydia[/name] after [name]Elisabeth[/name]…? [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] _____. That’s my vote!

xoxo [name]Sheridan[/name]

I only like it for a boy!

I think [name]Sawyer[/name] is cute, but slightly masculine sounding. If you’re going to use it on a girl, I think it could work, but you definitely need to give her feminine middles, so [name]Davison[/name] is out.

I absolutely love the name [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Davison[/name]. No matter what anyone else may say, I think you are making a great choice and I wish you all the best. Congratulations!

It’s funny. Almost as soon as a name starts being used for girls, I think of it as mainly female.

I can picture [name]Sawyer[/name] being really sweet on a little girl, and with names like [name]Harper[/name] popular on girls now, I don’t think she would suffer too many people assuming she is a boy. I find it difficult to imagine it on an adult, but only because I’ve never met one.

Exactly. By the time she grows up, she’ll be surrounded in -er ending girls. [name]Sawyer[/name] may not be common even then, but people won’t have much trouble with it on a girl. At least, they shouldn’t.

In this case, I had an interesting reaction. I thought “Would this name look odd if I found it on IMDB in the company of [name]Angelina[/name], [name]Keira[/name], [name]Leelee[/name], [name]Piper[/name], [name]Reese[/name], [name]Saffron[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Sienna[/name] and [name]Zooey[/name]?” No. An actress, at least, could carry it easily. I guess what I mean is, it’s easier to imagine and accept a name on someone famous than on someone whom you know nothing of except her name.

So, yes, I like it on a girl.

I really like [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Davison[/name] or [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name]! (I love [name]Lydia[/name] for a first name!)
