Its becoming increasingly likely I could lose my grandmother before I have my next child. We use honor names for middle names, usually a 2nd middle, she would be honored anyway if we have a boy as her name is [name_f]Danette[/name_f] and we have already chosen [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] for her and my FIL. For a girl, I had originally planned to honor my MIL with her middle name [name_f]Renee[/name_f], making [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_u]Blythe[/name_u] [name_f]Renee[/name_f], but if my grandma passes I think I’d want to honor her, but I don’t love her first or middle: [name_f]Danette[/name_f] [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is a decent combo, or I’ve considered [name_u]Drue[/name_u] as she has always suggested [name_f]Drusilla[/name_f] for all of us kids to use after her ex wouldn’t let her name my aunt [name_f]Drusilla[/name_f].
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_u]Blythe[/name_u] [name_u]Drue[/name_u] sounds a bit weird and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_u]Blythe[/name_u] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] in number of letters is 666 which I don’t love lol so I’d love to hear variants of [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] ____ [name_u]Drue[/name_u] or [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] ____ [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. I like vintage/virtue/nature names and ideally I’d want fairly short, one or two syllables.
I like it but all the names are uncommon where I live and worry it comes across like I’m trying too hard to give my kid a unique name. I do love the sound though.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] your process! Sorry to hear about your grandmother! It’s a difficult loss. [name_f]My[/name_f] only one, [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], passed several years ago! <3
I’ll do my best!
First: Have you thought about [name_f]Annette[/name_f]? Essentially [name_f]Danette[/name_f] w/o the initial D? So [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_u]Blythe[/name_u] [name_f]Annette[/name_f] or [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Annette[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f] even?
I think those sound cool and I personally love this idea
Thank you. Yes, [name_f]Annette[/name_f] is my cousin’s middle name after her but my grandma has mentioned to me she was never a fan of it so I won’t do that to her twice over lol
So thanks for that last one, my first iteration of Imogen’s full name was [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] [name_f]Renee[/name_f] IDK why I didn’t consider that lol
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] as an honour!
You might also like [name_f]Etta[/name_f]?
It’s a combination of the ending of [name_f]Danette[/name_f] and the french version of [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f]: Etiennette or Etienna so it could make a shorter honor name too.
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_u]Blythe[/name_u]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f] (I know this is a two honor name but it sounds so pretty)
