My best friend C is pregnant with #2 (yay!) and while she’s still early, she and I both are big name planners. Big brother is [name_u]Remington[/name_u] [name_m]Jones[/name_m] - [name_u]Remington[/name_u] is just a name they liked but that nodded to dad’s hunting hobby, while [name_m]Jones[/name_m] is dad’s middle name and grandmothers’ maiden name.
For baby 2, C wants to find a name that is just as meaningful as [name_u]Remy[/name_u]'s. C’s dad passed away suddenly and unexpectedly a few years ago and they were extremely close. I think she would love to honor his name in some way, however, neither of his given names are really options because they are just not her style. Her dad’s name was [name_m]Albert[/name_m] [name_u]Gene[/name_u] and he went by [name_u]Bert[/name_u].
So, I’m hoping you can maybe help me find a unique honor name for [name_u]Bert[/name_u] that I can send to C as a surprise option!
Right now, the top contenders for a boy are [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] (her husband was almost named this), [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]/[name_m]Nathan[/name_m], and [name_m]Caleb[/name_m]. A middle honor name would be perfect!
Appreciate your suggestions!
What about [name_m]Alban[/name_m] for [name_m]Albert[/name_m]? [name_f]Alba[/name_f] would be great for a girl.
[name_m]Alban[/name_m] is a great suggestion from pp
[name_m]Noble[/name_m] - [name_m]Albert[/name_m] and [name_u]Gene[/name_u] both have the meaning noble so maybe it could work as a middle. [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] Nobel or [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] Nobel maybe?
[name_u]Barrett[/name_u] - uses the letters of [name_u]Bert[/name_u] and [name_m]Albert[/name_m]?
[name_m]Bear[/name_m] - sounds a bit like [name_u]Bert[/name_u] and uses letters of [name_m]Albert[/name_m]
[name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] - still might not be her style but merging [name_u]Gene[/name_u] and [name_m]Albert[/name_m]?
[name_u]Alden[/name_u] - similar start to [name_m]Albert[/name_m] and end sound to [name_u]Gene[/name_u]
[name_m]Albie[/name_m] or [name_m]Alby[/name_m] - from [name_m]Albert[/name_m]
[name_u]Brighton[/name_u] - [name_u]Bert[/name_u] means bright
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m] - can mean bright
I really like how [name_u]Remington[/name_u]'s name has that nod to his fathers hunting hobby maybe they could so something like that for this baby with your DHs father? Other ideas for creative honor names:
Any name with the same meaning
His birth month/ color/ flower
[name_m]Favorite[/name_m] song/ musician
Names that he really liked for baby #1
