Honor Name for Jean

We are pregnant with our second child, and my husband’s grandma [name_u]Jean[/name_u] passed away this week. We were already considering using [name_u]Jean[/name_u] as a middle if our baby is a girl, but I was curious if anyone had any ideas for variations/other ways to honor [name_u]Jean[/name_u] that we could consider for the middle name or even the first name. Using [name_u]Jean[/name_u] as is for the middle is still on the table - just curious what some other options might be.

Currently, our front-runner for fn is [name_f]Thea[/name_f], but also considering [name_f]Lena[/name_f] (Lee-nuh), [name_f]Nina[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] (Edie).

Thanks!

[name_f]Janet[/name_f]

Jeaine
[name_f]Jana[/name_f]

I like [name_u]Jean[/name_u] just as it is. It’s so full of old-fashioned charm, and sounds amazing with so many of your front-running names! [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] would be to die for! It sounds so classic, but not dated or too old-lady at the same time, and I can imagine it on all sorts of personalities. [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u] are lovely as well!

[name_u]Jean[/name_u] is also a name we may try to honour when we have children! [name_u]Jeanne[/name_u] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] have already been suggested, but something else I’ve got on my list as a potential (middle) honour name is [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f]. I think it works with your shortlist too!

[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lena[/name_f] [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] “Edie”

Any variation of [name_m]John[/name_m] could work as [name_u]Jean[/name_u] itself is a variation of [name_m]John[/name_m]. Here is a link to a whole list of [name_m]John[/name_m] / [name_u]Jean[/name_u] related names. 1, 2, 3
[name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Janessa[/name_f], [name_f]Janice[/name_f], [name_f]Jayne[/name_f], [name_f]Jeana[/name_f], [name_f]Jeane[/name_f], [name_u]Jeanne[/name_u], [name_f]Jeanna[/name_f], Jayna, [name_f]Shavonne[/name_f], [name_f]Shevaun[/name_f], [name_f]Janelle[/name_f], [name_f]Janet[/name_f], [name_f]Janae[/name_f], [name_f]Janey[/name_f], [name_f]Janie[/name_f], [name_f]Jennie[/name_f], [name_f]Jenny[/name_f], Janeka, [name_u]Jessie[/name_u], [name_u]Joan[/name_u], [name_f]Joana[/name_f], [name_f]Jana[/name_f], [name_f]Joanna[/name_f], [name_f]Johanna[/name_f], [name_f]Johanna[/name_f], [name_f]Janine[/name_f], [name_f]Jeanine[/name_f], [name_f]Gina[/name_f], [name_f]Jeannette[/name_f],

Personally, I am looking at [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Jayne[/name_f] to honor my [name_u]Jeanne[/name_u] / [name_u]Jean[/name_u] / [name_m]John[/name_m] names.
