I am looking for one first and one middle to honor my Dad and maternal Grandmother:
[name_m]Kevin[/name_m] [name_m]Normand[/name_m] and [name_f]Diane[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f].
Hubs is not a fan of [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] as a fn, I think it is sweet, but I think adding [name_f]Louise[/name_f] or [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] in the middle is quite fine. [name_f]Diana[/name_f] or [name_f]Diane[/name_f] could also work in the middle. My Grandmother went by D and [name_f]Di[/name_f] frequently, so I think [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Delia[/name_f] is nice, but I cannot seem to pull options out of my Dad’s name.
I’m at a loss with my Dad. The best I could come up with is [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f].
I tend to prefer vintage names that have a have a history of use.
Can you guys please try throwing ideas out?
Edit: Hubs is in LOVE with Gemma. If you can squeeze both namesakes into one middle that is the dream, but I could entertain two middles. I feel like it is only fair to keep his fav in mind as well.
The names I can see pulling from your namesakes, that you haven’t already mentioned are [name_u]Vivian[/name_u], [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], and [name_f]Nola[/name_f].
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], but hubs hate it sadly. Although, I know he cares far less about middle names. [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]/[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is a great suggestion!
It’s a stretch, but the name [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] means handsome, so in theory, any female name meaning handsome or beautiful could be an honor name – [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], [name_f]Alanis[/name_f]… [name_f]McKenna[/name_f] means son of the handsome one… you could also consider [name_u]Keeva[/name_u] which is the phonetic spelling of the Irish name [name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f], which according to Nameberry means gentle, precious, beautiful.
[name_m]Normand[/name_m] is hard. To feminize it you could use [name_f]Norma[/name_f], [name_u]Mandy[/name_u], [name_f]Amandine[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] Normandy could be cool.
I don’t know that these will fit your style, but at least they’re options for you!
Another one which could work is [name_f]Luna[/name_f]/[name_f]Lune[/name_f] from [name_f]LOUise[/name_f] and [name_f]DiaNE[/name_f]. I also love [name_f]Dinah[/name_f], as an alternative to [name_f]Diane[/name_f], but I know it’s not to everyone’s taste.
The only other option I can think of for [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] [name_m]Normand[/name_m] is [name_f]Nova[/name_f]. Could [name_f]Novalie[/name_f] work as an option combining sounds from both of your namesakes? It’s a stretch I know!!
