Honor names for two grandmas

I’m thinking about honor names, specifically for my two grandmas, [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] and [name_f]Eileen[/name_f]. I’d like to come up with a name that is a nod to both of them. All I can think of is [name_f]Elora[/name_f] or maybe Marlene/a? Their middle names were [name_f]Eldora[/name_f] and [name_u]Marie[/name_u], respectively. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

First names I’m considering:

[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
Juna/Junia
Nomy/Nomi
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
Della/Delilah
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]

The M and E initials are so strong here! Personally, I’d lean into that. :relaxed: Your list is so lovely. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Elora[/name_f] feels like a perfect combo of all four names to me… mostly a nod to the middles, yes, but to the initials as well.

More ideas for names using [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f], [name_f]Eileen[/name_f], [name_f]Eldora[/name_f], and [name_u]Marie[/name_u] …
[name_f]Mara[/name_f]
[name_f]Marine[/name_f]
[name_f]Elma[/name_f]
[name_f]Marella[/name_f]
Elrie
[name_m]Riel[/name_m]
[name_f]Doreen[/name_f]

Could you use two middles?

I’m no help because I love [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] and [name_f]Eileen[/name_f] more than all the names on your list.

Oh, I love [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Elora[/name_f]! I also am really liking the idea of [name_f]Marine[/name_f] or [name_f]Marina[/name_f]!

I could see something like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Eileen[/name_f] [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] working! [name_m]Just[/name_m] a mouthful because we have a 3-syllable last name. Funny story - my mom really wanted to name me [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] [name_f]Eileen[/name_f] nn [name_u]Jorie[/name_u], and everyone in our family absolutely hated it. So she went with [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f]

Ooh [name_f]Elora[/name_f] Marnie/Marnee would be a gorgeous way to honor them both

If you want to combine them into one name, I would use [name_f]Marilena[/name_f]. It’s one of my favorite names because it’s just so cute and has lots of nicknames.

[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Marilena[/name_f] is perfection. :cherry_blossom:

Oh, I LOVE Marilena!!! I’ve never heard the name before, but I’ve always adored [name_f]Lena[/name_f] (can’t use it because our niece is [name_f]Angelina[/name_f] nn Lena). Using a form of it as a middle name that also honors my grandmothers is amazing! Thank you!

First thought is [name_f]Marjolaine[/name_f], the spelling Marjoleen does seem attested too (I’ve found scientific papers written by a Marjoleen)
