Honoring a grandma

Hello

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband would like a middle name or a first name to honor his grandma.
her name is [name_f]Linda[/name_f] [name_u]Kay[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. we would like a name to come from hers but not be directly [name_f]Linda[/name_f], [name_u]Kay[/name_u], or [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. And no we don’t like [name_f]Kaylee[/name_f].

([name_f]My[/name_f] husband is still not in love with the name [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] like I am which I think [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]-lee would be a great way to honor his grandma and still have something different.)

What do you think?

I would like to suggest [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Lindy[/name_f]! It’s a lot like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], but it honours his grandma’s first name and so he might be more into it? [name_f]Lindy[/name_f] is so sweet!

[name_f]Lilike[/name_f] / [name_f]Lilika[/name_f] - would be something really different, but I like that it has Li- from [name_f]Linda[/name_f], -li- from [name_u]Lee[/name_u], and -ke/-ka from [name_u]Kay[/name_u]. Awesome middle name material!

[name_f]Kalila[/name_f]

[name_f]Kalindi[/name_f] / [name_f]Kalinda[/name_f]

[name_f]Lily[/name_f] / [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]

Linley

[name_f]Lina[/name_f] / [name_f]Lena[/name_f]

[name_u]Linden[/name_u] / [name_f]Linnet[/name_f] / [name_f]Lilac[/name_f]

[name_f]Leandra[/name_f] - Quite similar to [name_f]Linda[/name_f] actually!

[name_f]Adelind[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lindy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Lena[/name_f]
[name_f]Liesl[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f]
[name_f]Belinda[/name_f]
[name_f]Melinda[/name_f]

Or you could connect them by meaning [name_f]Linda[/name_f] meaning beautiful/pretty you might consider…
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Nava[/name_f]
[name_f]Jolie[/name_f]
[name_f]Marini[/name_f]
[name_f]Delyth[/name_f]
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f]
[name_f]Calista[/name_f]
[name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f]/[name_u]Keeva[/name_u]
[name_u]Mio[/name_u]
[name_f]Nomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Ramana[/name_f]
[name_u]Teagan[/name_u]
[name_f]Anwen[/name_f]

I doubt these are very helpful but…

Laylee
[name_f]Kaylin[/name_f]
[name_u]Leland[/name_u]

Suggestions (Sorry for any repeats):
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] (great suggestion @dearest), [name_f]Kalila[/name_f] / [name_f]Kelila[/name_f], [name_f]Linnea[/name_f], [name_u]Linden[/name_u], [name_f]Adelind[/name_f], [name_f]Kalindi[/name_f], [name_f]Lilou[/name_f] (lee-lou), [name_f]Acacia[/name_f], [name_f]Azalea[/name_f], [name_f]Kahlo[/name_f], [name_u]Kato[/name_u] / [name_m]Cato[/name_m], [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] / [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Kitty[/name_f], [name_f]Katalina[/name_f] / [name_f]Catalina[/name_f], [name_f]Kalista[/name_f] / [name_f]Calista[/name_f] / [name_f]Callista[/name_f], [name_f]Kalla[/name_f] / [name_f]Calla[/name_f], [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] / [name_f]Catrina[/name_f], [name_f]Camellia[/name_f], [name_u]Laurence[/name_u], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_u]Billie[/name_u], [name_f]Tillie[/name_f], [name_f]Galilee[/name_f], [name_f]Kamillah[/name_f] / [name_f]Camila[/name_f], [name_f]Karolina[/name_f], [name_f]Lia[/name_f], [name_u]Leslie[/name_u], [name_f]Liana[/name_f], [name_f]Liesl[/name_f] / [name_f]Liesel[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f], [name_f]Lilika[/name_f], [name_f]Lileas[/name_f], [name_f]Leona[/name_f] / [name_f]Liona[/name_f], [name_f]Leonie[/name_f] / Lionie, [name_f]Adelie[/name_f], [name_f]Adalie[/name_f], [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], [name_f]Oliana[/name_f], [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], [name_f]Amalie[/name_f], [name_f]Annalie[/name_f], [name_f]Attalie[/name_f] / [name_f]Athalie[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelie[/name_f], [name_f]Coralie[/name_f], [name_f]Cicely[/name_f], [name_u]Early[/name_u], [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Julietta[/name_f], [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] (matches the meaning of [name_f]Linda[/name_f] too), [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], [name_f]Linde[/name_f].

Meaning connection to [name_f]Linda[/name_f] (beautiful):
[name_f]Belle[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], [name_f]Calla[/name_f], [name_f]Calixta[/name_f], [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f], [name_f]Callista[/name_f], [name_u]Mio[/name_u], [name_f]Rana[/name_f], [name_f]Orabella[/name_f], [name_f]Amabel[/name_f]. [name_u]Zuri[/name_u], [name_f]Nomi[/name_f], [name_f]Mabs[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Venus[/name_f].

Meaning connection to [name_u]Kay[/name_u] (pure):
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_f]Catalina[/name_f], [name_f]Ines[/name_f] / [name_f]Inez[/name_f], [name_f]Concetta[/name_f], [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] / [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], [name_f]Katell[/name_f], [name_u]Kit[/name_u], [name_f]Kitty[/name_f], [name_f]Vesta[/name_f], [name_u]Wynn[/name_u], [name_f]Zakia[/name_f].

Meaning connection to [name_u]Lee[/name_u] (pasture, meadow):
[name_u]Prairie[/name_u], [name_u]Hartley[/name_u], [name_u]Raleigh[/name_u], [name_f]Waverley[/name_f], [name_f]Whitley[/name_f], [name_u]Abilene[/name_u].

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is beautiful! As is [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]. I think both [name_u]Lee[/name_u] and [name_u]Kay[/name_u] are great middle names

I know you said you’re not a fan of [name_f]Kaylee[/name_f], but what about [name_f]Kaylene[/name_f]/[name_f]Kayleen[/name_f]? It’s my nieces middle name. Or even [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]?

[name_f]Melinda[/name_f] is my favorite out if the suggestion for [name_f]Linda[/name_f]. She could be a. [name_f]Linda[/name_f], [name_f]Lindy[/name_f], or [name_u]Mel[/name_u], [name_f]Mellie[/name_f]! And even [name_f]Mindy[/name_f]!

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] are so beautiful as well!

If [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is not quite right, would your husband like [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] instead?

Or what about [name_f]Lily[/name_f]?? Starts with the same letters as [name_f]Linda[/name_f], then ends with the “lee” sound.

Or [name_f]Layla[/name_f] kind of sounds like a combination of [name_u]Kay[/name_u] and [name_f]Linda[/name_f].

Other names ending in “lee”…
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f]
Cecelie/ [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
[name_f]Kallista[/name_f] or [name_f]Kalliope[/name_f] with nn “[name_f]Kallie[/name_f]”

Names ending in “da” like [name_f]Linda[/name_f]:
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Ida[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f]
[name_f]Leda[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucinda[/name_f] (really close to [name_f]Linda[/name_f]!)
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f]

Or, this almost seems like a stretch, but [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] nn “[name_f]Katie[/name_f]” has “kay” and “ee” sounds.

Good luck!!

Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions! This was most helpful  I will definitely share with the hubby and see what he thinks.

Are you set on it being a first name? [name_f]Melinda[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], and even [name_f]Kaylin[/name_f] could make great middles as well.

Linley was the first thing that came to mind. Or Linlee, I guess?

I like just using [name_u]Kay[/name_u] as a first or middle.
