Honoring a Jodie Lyn

I’m not pregnant or trying yet, but this has been on my mind for a while, and I’m hoping to pick your brains a bit.

I would love to honor my mother [name]Jodie[/name] [name]Lyn[/name] somehow, either with a variation of her first name ([name]Jovie[/name], [name]Jolie[/name]), or maybe by incorporating her initials (JL) or middle name ([name]Evelyn[/name], etc) into my child’s name.

J names do run in my family, so these names are out: [name]Julie[/name], [name]Jolene[/name], [name]Jocelyn[/name], [name]Jaime[/name].

Any ideas would be appreciated!

I really like [name]Jovie[/name]; it’s a playful, feminine choice with dignified classical overtones. [name]Jolie[/name] is a bit too word-namey for me, and there’s some ambiguity as to where the stress falls. If you want the [name]JOE[/name]-lee pronunciation, you could always try [name]Joely[/name], which is very cute.
Other ideas: [name]Joanna[/name]/[name]Johannah[/name] and, more tangentially, [name]Lina[/name] (from [name]Lyn[/name]) and [name]Delia[/name] (from the --dee l-- sound sequence).
