Not pregnant yet, but I’ve still been thinking and wondering about potential girls’ names for a future daughter. I would love to honor my Great Aunt [name]Miriam[/name] (who is like the godmother I never had) in my next daughter’s middle name, but I am really not fond of the name [name]Miriam[/name]. I’m looking for creative ways to honor a [name]Miriam[/name] that don’t involve the name [name]Miriam[/name]. Suggestions?
My list so far is as follows, if you would like to make a few combos:
[name]Hi[/name] [name]Sydnee[/name], I’d honor a [name]Miriam[/name] by using [name]Mary[/name], as [name]Miriam[/name] is the oldest form of [name]Mary[/name].
There’s also [name]Mary[/name] variations like [name]May[/name], [name]Mae[/name], [name]Mariam[/name], [name]Maribel[/name] and [name]Manon[/name].
My favourite names from your list are:
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Cleo[/name]
[name]Carys[/name]
[name]Willa[/name]
[name]Sicily[/name]
[name]Sanna[/name] - love this and also [name]Sanaa[/name] (because I think it has a lovelier meaning) and [name]Sana[/name]
[name]Leonie[/name]
Thanks so much for your response, ljandri! I I absolutely love your suggestions of [name]Maribel[/name] and [name]Manon[/name] in the middle spot - [name]Maribel[/name] seems so happy, light, and fresh, while [name]Manon[/name] - a French name - would match my other daughters’ French middles. Thanks for mentioning the name [name]Sanaa[/name]. I wasn’t really aware of it before, and it is beautiful with a lovely meaning. I am adding it to my list!
From the combos you mentioned, I love [name]Sicily[/name] [name]May[/name]! Since [name]Sicily[/name], a place name, would be considered a bit “trendy” while also a bit out there, its nice to balance it with a simple, classic middle choice. I also like [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Mariam[/name] for the same reasons: [name]Cleo[/name] is a bit more adventurous, while [name]Mariam[/name] has such familiar sounds that it oozes class and warmth.
