This is just a bit of a fun post, looking for inspiration. If you were to honor an [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], how would you do it? I’ve thought of a couple options–[name_f]Adele[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is on my list of “maybes” for [name_f]Adele[/name_f] (le sigh, I have a huge list, and honestly can’t decide…), so that seems the most obvious answer, but I’ve also been tossing about [name_u]Antonia[/name_u] nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f] for a while now, and also have recently crushed on [name_f]Anya[/name_f] and [name_u]Maria[/name_u] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] as a double-barrel. Or even a fun [name_u]French[/name_u] double barrel like [name_u]Anne[/name_u]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f], [name_u]Anne[/name_u]-[name_f]Claire[/name_f], or [name_u]Anne[/name_u]-[name_u]Louise[/name_u]! Creativity is more than welcome, although I probably won’t go as crazy as [name_f]Anemone[/name_f] or [name_f]Sophronia[/name_f]… they’re not “me”, so much.
For myself? If I were to honor an [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], I’d go with [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Annelise[/name_f], which is actually a combo on my long list that I just adore.
Anya makes me think of [name_f]Sonya[/name_f], which is a gorgeous variant of [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. [name_u]Antonia[/name_u] is lovely, and I think nn “[name_f]Annie[/name_f]” is adorable!
Anya was my first thought. It combines [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] in a gorgeous name.
If I had to honor a person named [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], I would go with [name_f]Annabella[/name_f]/e, [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] or a name ending in [name_f]Ana[/name_f]/Anna/Anne. Then I would search a middle name like [name_u]Sol[/name_u], [name_f]Soleil[/name_f], [name_u]Sage[/name_u], [name_f]Serena[/name_f], [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], [name_f]Sapphira[/name_f], [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f],…
What about [name_f]Anita[/name_f]?
Hey [name_u]Ash[/name_u]!! Great to “see” you again!
I could totally see [name_u]Antonia[/name_u] nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f] for you. [name_f]Anya[/name_f] is also sweet, leans more towards your short and spunky names like [name_u]Tali[/name_u]. But [name_u]Antonia[/name_u] and [name_f]Liliana[/name_f] as sisters? chef’s kiss!
[name_m]Hi[/name_m], [name_u]Abby[/name_u]! Nice to see you too!
And can you really? It’s taken me years to see [name_u]Antonia[/name_u]’s appeal, and even now wonder if I’d be more likely to use [name_f]Antonina[/name_f]. But I was thinking it MAY solve my [name_f]Annie[/name_f] problem—I love [name_f]Annie[/name_f] but can’t seem to commit to an [name_f]Anna[/name_f]-related choice! She’s definitely on my radar but I am not sure I could commit to her as a LOVE yet, and realistically [name_u]Antonia[/name_u] is much more likely to be a MN, unless [name_u]Antonia[/name_u] continues to grow on me at a massive rate.
@elanorelle - [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] is amazing!
@Estrela - thanks, love! I’m actually looking to honor a [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] too, so I think I’d more naturally see [name_f]Serena[/name_f] as a [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] honor, but thanks for the ideas!
@tjprej - thanks for the ideas! Isn’t [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] stunning? She’s actually a little girl I sponsor—I sponsor 6 kiddos in [name_u]South[/name_u] [name_u]America[/name_u] through Compassion International—and my sponsored kids are like family—nieces and nephews, in a way?—so realistically just reusing [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] isn’t quite so easy—it’s already so cemented to her! I could easily be convinced to use an [name_u]Anne[/name_u]/Anna related double barrel like [name_u]Anne[/name_u]-[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] or [name_u]Anne[/name_u]-[name_u]Louise[/name_u] or [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Maria[/name_u], though.
Antonina would be beautiful too! With many of your names, I get a sweet small town, down-to-earth, lover-of-nature, wholesome soul vibe, which [name_u]Antonia[/name_u] fits perfectly for me. [name_u]Auden[/name_u], [name_m]Casper[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and of course [name_f]Liliana[/name_f] fits this too! With [name_f]Anya[/name_f], it’s a bit more feisty and spunky, like she lives in the same small town but sees herself as a big city star alongside [name_m]Reef[/name_m], [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m], and [name_u]Tali[/name_u]! Lol, I hope that imagery came through.
[name_f]Antonina[/name_f] Zabinski in The Zookeeper’s Wife really cemented my love for [name_f]Antonina[/name_f]! It is a lot of name, though, and I’m not sure I can see me using [name_u]Antonia[/name_u] OR [name_f]Antonina[/name_f] up front. It’s interesting that that’s the vibe you get for [name_u]Antonia[/name_u], though, because that’s quite different from the imagery I get lol. For me, [name_u]Antonia[/name_u]'s either a prestigious [name_m]Roman[/name_m] senator’s wife, full of poise and maybe some dark secrets, or she’s a barefoot Brazilian little one with a dirt-smeared shy smile in some favela. I think [name_u]Antonia[/name_u]'s charm does come from the Brazilian aspect–[name_u]Brazil[/name_u]'s so near to my heart–but it just never felt like a “me” name before. I have considered [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Antonia[/name_u]/Violet [name_f]Antonina[/name_f], but even that didn’t really stick…
It’s really interesting to see your perspective on [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_u]Auden[/name_u], [name_m]Casper[/name_m], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Liliana[/name_f], etc., vs. [name_m]Reef[/name_m], [name_m]Eoghan[/name_m], [name_u]Tali[/name_u], and [name_f]Anya[/name_f]. haha.
Thanks, love! [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is so intriguing and completely wearable! I love it. I can’t really see me with an [name_f]Anouk[/name_f], but I like the idea in general. It’s so fun! I suppose I could do something like ______ [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], etc. I’ll have to give it somethought.
