Honoring Beatrice

Hello! [name_m]Just[/name_m] curious if there is something out there I haven’t thought of. If I have a daughter there is a chance I would like to honor her grandmother [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] somehow or some way in her name.

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I really only like very very unique and not used names. So it would have to be fairly unique. So that’s the issue I keep running into. Any thoughts?

[name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Bérénice[/name_f] (true victory) this was the name of sister of [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f] and also the name of the sister of [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] the Great, with the [name_u]French[/name_u] pronunciation it is superb .

I love the name [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] but we have a cat named [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] :joy_cat:

Thank you for the other name - definitely will look more into it.

I really like the Welsh variant [name_f]Betrys[/name_f]. [name_f]Behati[/name_f] is also lovely!

In [name_u]French[/name_u] - Beh-Reh-NISS

The R can be pronounced in the [name_u]French[/name_u] way or not.

[name_f]Behati[/name_f] is a beautiful name!

Maybe [name_f]Viatrix[/name_f], the ‘original’ variant of Beatrix/Beatrice?

If you you take the meaning ‘voyager/traveller’ then [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u], [name_u]Journey[/name_u], [name_u]Isra[/name_u] might work.

If you take the ‘brings happiness’ meaning, then [name_u]Gili[/name_u], [name_f]Letitia[/name_f], [name_f]Alaia[/name_f], [name_m]Meriwether[/name_m], [name_u]Blythe[/name_u] or [name_u]Jubilee[/name_u] might work

If you take the ‘blessed’ meaning, maybe [name_u]Wynne[/name_u]?

Based on sound/look/letters:

Tizzy
[name_f]Reba[/name_f]
[name_f]Bee[/name_f]

Any B name could work .

[name_f]Bea[/name_f] is one I love. Could be BEE or BAY-uh pronunciation.

I like [name_f]Bess[/name_f] or [name_f]Betty[/name_f] or [name_f]Beth[/name_f] as a short version of [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], even through they have different meanings, they are quite vintage and not really used. I also like [name_f]Bria[/name_f] or [name_f]Brea[/name_f], or another name meaning happiness like [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] or [name_f]Joy[/name_f] :two_hearts:

You’ve had some amazing suggestions already (seconding [name_f]Viatrix[/name_f] and Belphobe), I’ll add [name_f]Mélisande[/name_f] which means ‘honeybee’, B for [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]:honeybee:

I like both [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] very much. If those are too common, then I’d suggest [name_f]Viatrix[/name_f].

I love the [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f] spelling. It’s the portuguese/spanish version, and the Z definitely adds some spark. :cherry_blossom:
