Honoring Cynthia?

Hello! I absolutely love the name [name_f]Thea[/name_f]. Mother in laws name is [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]. I don’t mind the connection and know she would be thrilled. I just wonder if it would be a little weird since they will both have the same surname, and therefore very similar full names . Is it weird to have [name_f]Thea[/name_f] Lastname and [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f] Lastname in the same family? Mother in law regularly goes by a nickname, does that help? Thanks!

I definitely hear the honor and think it’s sweet but I wouldn’t automatically assume she was named for grandma. They are two completely different names to me. I doubt there would be confusion.

I don’t think it’s weird.

That doesn’t seem weird at all to me! It’s a beautiful connection. Plus, with them being quite far removed age-wise (as opposed to cousins or siblings), I don’t see it becoming confusing. [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is a wondrous name

I think the difference in spelling and the distinctiveness of the ‘Cinth’ sound means they feel quite separate! It’s a sweet connection but I wouldn’t find it weird or too matchy

Not weird at all. Not even the same initial. It’s very cute!
