I’m not sure if we’ll actually do this, because we’ve pretty much chosen the names for our baby, but the middle names aren’t set in stone yet.
So, we’re thinking of honoring someone that means a lot to both of us. His name is [name_u]Dominique[/name_u] ([name_m]French[/name_m] form of [name_m]Dominic[/name_m]). But neither of us likes the name [name_u]Dominique[/name_u], and while [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] is slightly better, we still don’t love it. So what other names can you think of that would honor [name_u]Dominique[/name_u], male and female?
[name_f]Domenica[/name_f] (or [name_f]Dominica[/name_f]) for a girl, and [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] for a boy, maybe?
[name_u]Nico[/name_u]
[name_m]Donovan[/name_m]
[name_f]Veronique[/name_f]
[name_f]Minnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mina[/name_f]/[name_f]Minna[/name_f]
[name_m]Domingo[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] (similar meaning)
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] (similar meaning)
[name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicolo[/name_m]
[name_u]Theo[/name_u]/[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (similar meaning)
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]/[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] (similar meaning)
[name_f]Godiva[/name_f] (similar meaning)
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] (similar meaning)
[name_f]Monique[/name_f]
[name_f]Monica[/name_f]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f]/[name_f]Theodosia[/name_f] (similar meaning)
I really like the (unisex) name [name_u]Domini[/name_u], like the actress [name_u]Domini[/name_u] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f].
[name_u]Domino[/name_u] could also be fun, but it doesn’t really feel like your style.
Simple [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] would probably be my personal favourite, though.
Thanks everyone!
@dream.create: [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] might be a bit of a stretch, but it could work and I quite like it.
@greyblue: I like [name_u]Nico[/name_u] and [name_f]Minna[/name_f]
@davisellu: we both love [name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m], so that could definitely go on our list. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] are lovely too.
@katinka: [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] is such a great idea! I really like it, but I hadn’t thought of using it to honor [name_u]Dominique[/name_u]. It totally makes sense though. [name_u]Domino[/name_u] is rather cute, but you’re right in thinking it’s not really our style.
