Hello all!
We are planning to TTC our final baby this year and the name combinations I am working with are literally the final candidates for a baby’s first name: at one point, each name was a final contender, we’ve just decided to use them all up on the final baby instead of saving any for future use. So to me, both boy and girl combos are perfect and meaningful to me. However, I keep thinking about [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] (a family name), and how it would honor my grandmother [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (who nobody has ever honored), and I’m torn.
So my questions: would any [name_f]El[/name_f]- name honor [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]? Does [name_f]Elena[/name_f] already honor [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]? I know they are still very different in style, but maybe it works? I’ve never been very good at finding connections between names and some of you are brilliant at it.
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is the name we have currently decided on. It may change. But I love that it allows me to use [name_f]Mila[/name_f] + [name_f]Elena[/name_f] + [name_u]Ara[/name_u] + [name_f]Belle[/name_f]–all of which we considered for another girl. My oldest was even referring to the baby as [name_u]Baby[/name_u] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and [name_u]Baby[/name_u] [name_u]Ara[/name_u] for a while. So I feel this name is perfect, EXCEPT for my grandmother.
So can I honor [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] with [name_f]Elena[/name_f]?
Sorry for the ramble! Thanks for sticking with me if you’ve gotten this far!
I think [name_f]Elena[/name_f] definitely works. I’m not a big fan of [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] because all the names end in A. Maybe [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] could work. [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] could be another option.
I think the name is great and [name_f]Elena[/name_f] works but could [name_f]Milly[/name_f]/[name_f]Millie[/name_f] work instead of [name_f]Mila[/name_f] so that the names don´t sound that similar?
Yes, I think that [name_f]El[/name_f]- names, like [name_f]Elena[/name_f] do honor a name like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Another idea is to put the [name_f]Belle[/name_f] right after [name_f]Elena[/name_f], because “[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]” and “[name_f]Beth[/name_f]” and then you have “[name_f]Elena[/name_f]” and “[name_f]Belle[/name_f].” Anyway, the name you picked out is very pretty.
I like the suggestion of [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]. Since [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is a diminutive of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], it definitely works as a tribute. [name_f]Elena[/name_f] is a form of [name_f]Helen[/name_f], which is different name, so for me, it wouldn’t work as an honor name. And I really like the flow of [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]! [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] would be gorgeous in the middle spot as well.
I think any E name could honor [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. That´s how we do honor names in my family. I like your combo but [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is very sing-songy because they all end in A.
What about
[name_f]Eleni[/name_f] [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Arabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]/[name_f]Elinor[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]
You’ve given me a lot to think about! Thank you everyone for your comments, I appreciate it!
