My husband wants to use [name_m]Albert[/name_m] as a middle name (because it is his middle name and his dad’s middle name) and I would like to use a first name that honors my Dad ([name_u]Gary[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]) who passed away 5 years ago. I was content to save [name_u]Lee[/name_u] as the middle name for a second child until I realized that the baby would be born very close to both fathers day and the day that Dad died. So far I am at a loss. I don’t want to use [name_u]Gary[/name_u] itself but can’t come up with many similarly sounding names. I think [name_m]Levi[/name_m] would be my preference, but my husband isn’t sold. He also suggested we could use [name_m]Albert[/name_m] as a first name but it seems like he would end up being either [name_m]Al[/name_m] or [name_u]Bert[/name_u] and I’m not crazy about either of those nicknames. Any suggestions?
My first though was [name_m]Garrett[/name_m], which I love, but [name_m]Garrett[/name_m] [name_m]Albert[/name_m] doesn’t sound good.
There is also [name_m]Garek[/name_m], [name_m]Garrick[/name_m], Garen/[name_m]Garon[/name_m], and [name_m]Gareth[/name_m].
To honor the [name_u]Lee[/name_u] part, there is [name_u]Leland[/name_u], [name_m]Leon[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], and [name_m]Leander[/name_m].
My favorite overall is [name_m]Leon[/name_m] [name_m]Albert[/name_m].
[name_f]Edit[/name_f]: I just had to edit to say that I love the name [name_m]Levi[/name_m] too.
What about [name_u]Gray[/name_u]?
My husband nixed [name_u]Gray[/name_u] because he doesn’t like the idea of “naming the baby after a color” I kind of like it though. I also like [name_m]Leon[/name_m] [name_m]Albert[/name_m] but that is my father-in-laws name so I feel like the attempt to name him after my father would be overlooked. I kind of like [name_u]Leland[/name_u]. Sofar I haven’t liked any of the “[name_m]Gar[/name_m]” names I’ve seen.
I like the idea of [name_u]Gray[/name_u], although [name_u]Gray[/name_u] [name_m]Albert[/name_m] is a bit of a bummer as far as names go. Is [name_u]Lee[/name_u] not an option? It’s very versatile and wearable. [name_u]Lee[/name_u] [name_m]Albert[/name_m] sounds nice. [name_m]Garrison[/name_m] [name_m]Albert[/name_m]? Or perhaps your father’s surname could work?
Garen? [name_f]Garnet[/name_f]? [name_u]Galen[/name_u] (kind of a nice combo of [name_u]Gary[/name_u] and [name_u]Lee[/name_u])? [name_m]Garrick[/name_m]?
[name_m]Grayling[/name_m]? Not a color, actually a nice fish!
Combines [name_u]Gray[/name_u]/[name_u]Gary[/name_u] sound with Ling/[name_u]Lee[/name_u] sound.
I like [name_u]Lee[/name_u] as a first name also.
What about [name_m]Grayson[/name_m]? It honors [name_u]Gary[/name_u], is not a color (you could still call him [name_u]Gray[/name_u]) and it sort of looks like the word grandson!
I like [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] but my husband nixed that because it’s a last name. As far as [name_u]Lee[/name_u] goes, my only rule about names is that it has to be 4 or more letters (mainly because when trying to use my dad’s middle name as a security question it would reject [name_u]Lee[/name_u] because it wasn’t enough letters.) My husband apparently has may more weird things about names, (no last names, no colors, no fish… etc) so I told him he’s just going to have to get use to [name_m]Levi[/name_m].
[name_m]Levi[/name_m] is a good name.
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] -has ‘[name_m]Gar[/name_m]’ in it, as well as the same meaning as [name_u]Gary[/name_u]
[name_m]Garrison[/name_m]!
[name_m]Garrison[/name_m] [name_m]Albert[/name_m] works, I think.
