I’m not expecting but I’m searching for names for my future children and a way to honour my grandma [name_f]Sanka[/name_f]. I always thought her name was Russian, a form of Stefana, but I recently read somewhere that it was Jamaican meaning “soulful”.
I’ve come across [name_f]Sansa[/name_f] but it’s not my style. I’ve also considered [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] and [name_f]Blanca[/name_f], which I kind of like.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any other suggestions?
Perhaps using it as a middle name? I like boyandgirl’s suggestion of just using the name [name_f]Sanka[/name_f], its beautiful, but if you prefer not, I think it would make a lovely middle name as well!
I just saw that [name_f]Sanka[/name_f] is a variation of [name_f]Dusana[/name_f] (doo-sha-nah) meaning spirit or soul, so you could use [name_f]Dusana[/name_f] if you like that better. One of my very favorite names, [name_f]Alma[/name_f], means “soul” as well, so maybe that’s an option. [name_f]Enid[/name_f] means life or spirit so that would work as well. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like any of those? Good luck
Maybe Kansas? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like place/word names?
I love them and I think Kansas would be a cool way to switch around the letters and honor gma.
Maybe just an S name or a name with the same meaning.
Maybe [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]?
Senka is a Serbian-Croatian name meaning ‘shadow’ and I’ve also heard the Japanese Senka means ‘one-thousand flowers’ so if you want to honor by meaning you might consider…
