My grandpa’s name is [name]Charles[/name]. I have recently found that i like this name as a middle name with a frilly/feminine first name for a girl.

I know it’s weird, but I really want to use [name]Charles[/name]. Im not really a fan of [name]Charlotte[/name] or [name]Charli[/name]. i’m confident that it will be one of those names that people think they dont like, but it grows on them.

I think it is super charming and sweet, especially if [name]Charles[/name] honors grandpa! So, that said, I would pick a feminine name with a spunky nickname to tack on before [name]Charles[/name] (a la [name]Vivi[/name] [name]Charles[/name]). So something like:

I don’t have any new suggestions, but I just wanted to say that I’m a big fan of [name]Mila[/name] [name]Charles[/name] and [name]Stella[/name] [name]Charles[/name]. I think it’s a cute way to honor your grandfather without being dumb like [name]Jessica[/name] [name]Simpson[/name].
And I mean I really, really, REALLY love the [name]Mila[/name] and [name]Stella[/name] combos. I would almost usurp them for my own list if it weren’t backed up 50 children. Sigh.
I’d really rather a variant of [name]Charles[/name], such as [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Carlotta[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Carolyn[/name] even, but if you’re 100% on the [name]Charles[/name] in the middle, [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Charles[/name] gets my votes.

[name]Do[/name] you still like the others better? [name]Layla[/name] means dark beauty which i like since my husband and I both have dark hair and eyes.
[name]Do[/name] the parents of [name]Vivienne[/name] [name]Charles[/name] call her by both first and middle name? I would almost like to use it as a double barrel name. I like charles with a feminine FN but the frilly FN standing alone is not edgy enough for my taste.

Well as far as i can tell from reading the blog, they call her “[name]Vivi[/name] [name]Charles[/name]” primarily, or just “[name]Vivi[/name]”. So yes, it basically acts as a double barrel name, though [name]Vivienne[/name] “[name]Vivi[/name]” is the given first name, and [name]Charles[/name] is the given middle name - so not a true “double barrel” like [name]Mary[/name]-[name]Kate[/name] say, or [name]Anne[/name]-[name]Marie[/name].
Ps: [name]Love[/name] [name]Layla[/name] [name]Charles[/name]. The spunky [name]Charles[/name] grounds the uber feminine [name]Layla[/name] which I love!
Anything goes for middle names in my opinion. Definitely need a super feminine first name though with mn being [name]Charles[/name]. I don’t see the names you listed as “frilly” at all. Frilly makes me think [name]Victoria[/name], [name]Francesca[/name], [name]Lillith[/name], [name]Antoinette[/name], [name]Arabella[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name], [name]Veronica[/name]. I like [name]Veronica[/name] [name]Charles[/name]. [name]Layla[/name] [name]Charles[/name] is nice. I would prefer a feminine variant of [name]Charles[/name] but as said, anything goes for the middle name.
I understand what you mean about needing a frilly name. I dont like veronica bc the nn would be roni charles which is way too masculine. I do like [name]Vivienne[/name] bc my mom’s name is [name]Annette[/name] and I’ve always wanted a name with anne to honor her. So I could do [name]Vivianne[/name] or [name]Vivian[/name]. But another poster has used that name which would make me feel a little guilty.
