Honoring mom, Donna with Dawn as mn?

I really want a meaningful middle name for our daughter (due in [name_f]October[/name_f]) since our first daughter’s mn has a lot of meaning to us. First name will most likely be either Charlotte or Ava. My mom’s name is [name_f]Donna[/name_f] which I wouldn’t want to use, but I was thinking about using [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] instead. Would that make sense? My hubby said he would be on board if it’s meaningful to me, but it’s not his first choice. I feel the same way. What are your opinions? Does [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] make sense as in being named after [name_f]Donna[/name_f]?

I like it, both on it’s own and as an honour for [name_f]Donna[/name_f]. It’s a very underused and lovely name.

As [name_f]Donna[/name_f] means ‘lady’, you might also consider:
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f]
[name_f]Freja[/name_f]/[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]/[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalen[/name_f]/[name_f]Magdalene[/name_f]
[name_f]Martha[/name_f]
[name_f]Norah[/name_f]
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] as an honour name for [name_f]Donna[/name_f] is a good idea. [name_f]Donna[/name_f] is a pretty name, but I like the freshness of [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]. Easterbunny also had some awesome suggestions if you’re just not completely sold on [name_f]Dawn[/name_f]. Best of luck!
