I don’t currently have any children, nor will I be having them any time soon! Of course I love thinking about what I’d like to name my children! I love the idea of using the names of or similar names to my close friends and family. However most of the people I want to honor are women and I wouldn’t necessarily want to give my potential son a very stereotypically feminine name!

[name_f]My[/name_f] grandma’s middle name was [name_f]Mae[/name_f] and she was so fond of it! After she passed, I knew I’d give her name to my future daughter. Of course I may not have a daughter!

Has anyone else honored a woman through your son’s name? How did you do it? Any suggestions on honoring [name_f]Mae[/name_f]?
I know lots of people who have used a masculine variation of a feminine name in order to honor a loved one! [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is such a pretty name, and there’s so many options for a son’s name:
Call me crazy but I think [name_f]Mae[/name_f] as a middle name (or second middle) for a boy is pretty cool [name_f][/name_f]- I’d go for that, personally!

Here are some other ideas (sorry for any repeats, count them as seconds!) [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Maelan[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Abimael[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Mason[/name_m] (Maeson?) [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Maelor[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Mateo[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Manus[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Timaeus[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f][name_m]Amadeus[/name_m]
Thank you! I actually really like [name_m]Marsh[/name_m]! It’s really nature-y! [name_m]Meyer[/name_m] also reminds me of another boy’s name I love which is [name_m]Mercer[/name_m]!
So, if I had a daughter right now, her name would be [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] (Mae and [name_f]Marie[/name_f] being two middle names!)
Honestly, I am SO for giving boys traditional “girl’s” names! If I were to have a son right now, his first name would be [name_m]Morgan[/name_m], which is a name I’ve loved for a boy since I was 9 years old?! Because [name_m]Morgan[/name_m] is more likely to be considered feminine, I’d like to attempt to balance it out with at least a slightly more masculine name!
