I thought of a fun name game to play. Basically, the first person comes up with one or two (maybe more if you really wanted) fake relatives/friends/places/ideas to honour, and a gender for a baby (or maybe not if you don’t mind. You might even want to do twins)
Then the next person comes up with a way to creatively honour the fake people/places. For example:
First Poster: I would like to honour my Aunt [name_f]Carol[/name_f] [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and the place were my partner and I met, [name_f]France[/name_f]. We are having a baby girl.
Next Poster: [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f]. I would like to honour my grandmother [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and my grandfather [name_m]Herbert[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. We are having a baby boy.
Next poster: [name_u]Jay[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. Etc…
Okay I’ll start. I would like to honour my sister [name_f]Erin[/name_f] [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u] and I would love a name that honours my love of gardening. We are having a baby girl.
I would like to honour my favourite character, [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] [name_u]Drew[/name_u], and my best friend [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_m]Rhodes[/name_m]. I am having a baby boy.
I would like to honor my wonderful mother [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Diane[/name_f] [name_m]Hewitt[/name_m] and my partner’s love of science fiction novels. We are having a girl.
I would like to honour the place I grew up, [name_m]Sanders[/name_m] [name_m]Street[/name_m], and my uncle [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] ([name_u]Teddy[/name_u]) [name_u]Rain[/name_u]. I am having a baby girl.
I would like to honour my husband’s profession of being a jewelerry maker (jewler?) and my best friend [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] [name_u]Tyler[/name_u]. We are having a baby girl.
My husband and I are expecting a boy. We’d like his name to go by his FN and MN initials (DJ, TJ, JB, AJ, …). His first name should be a nickname name, and his middle name should be vintage.
My fiance and I are expecting BG twins. We want their names to honour our relatives who recently passed away: his grandmother, [name_u]Joyce[/name_u] [name_f]Doreen[/name_f], and my grandfather, [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] [name_m]George[/name_m]. We also want to honour any of our patron saints: the archangel Selaphiel, the Blessed Virgin [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and St. [name_u]James[/name_u] the Greater.
