Im still making sure that my chosen name will be the perfect name for me and ive been wanting to honour my burth name (Daphne was my forename and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] was my middle name) so any boy names honouring that will be greatly appreciated
Maybe:
- [name_m]Daphnis[/name_m]- I think this is super cool
- [name_u]Dale[/name_u] - combines sounds in [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] and a classic. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandfather was [name_u]Dale[/name_u] so I love it
- [name_m]Dalton[/name_m] - same as above
- [name_u]Loren[/name_u] - shares “laurel” meaning with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and I think [name_u]Loren[/name_u] is cool on a guy personally
Since both names are flower names you could just incorporate a nature name:
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_u]Sorrel[/name_u]
[name_u]Basil[/name_u]
[name_u]Florian[/name_u]
[name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m]
[name_m]Moss[/name_m]
[name_u]Indigo[/name_u]
[name_m]Jared[/name_m]
[name_u]Gardener[/name_u] is another one that I really like although maybe im taking the flower vive a little too literally.
I do think you have some very creative choices with those names to honor, which is very cool.
Another way to make a link is with Greek mythology names as that is where [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] comes from. I like [name_m]Jason[/name_m], [name_m]Damon[/name_m] and [name_m]Leander[/name_m]!

So there’s a Greek Myth about [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. Basically, [name_m]Apollo[/name_m], the god of music, archery and tragic bi relationships, fell in love with a beautiful girl named [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] after being shot by [name_m]Eros[/name_m], the son of [name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f] and someone who could basically make anyone fall blindly in love with anyone he wanted them to by shooting them. So [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] chased after [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], and she ran away. He, having no tact or ability to see where he wasn’t wanted, continued to chase her. She begged her father to help her escape so he turned her into a [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] tree. And [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] goes to cry and add another lover to his increasingly long list of unrequited lovers who’s ever deaths he was directly responsible for.
In summary, a good male or gender-neutral name that honours [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is [name_u]Laurel[/name_u].
Thanks a load, that story was great to read
[name_u]David[/name_u]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] = [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] tree…masc form Lorell or [name_f]Laurell[/name_f] (Dav and [name_u]Denny[/name_u] are also options)
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]- the surname Dahl is what it comes from more Dowl than [name_m]Doll[/name_m]
So possibly
Lorell Dahl or Lowrell Dahl or [name_f]Laurell[/name_f] Dahl
[name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_u]Denny[/name_u] Dahl or [name_u]Dean[/name_u] Dahl or Dav Dali
Ooh [name_u]Denny[/name_u] Dahl sounds so cool
