[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all,
I want to honour a family member called [name_f]Gaye[/name_f] but I don’t think it a usable name anymore. Any vintage but not outdated names to honour [name_f]Gaye[/name_f]. They can be be more modern but I prefer vintage. I don’t want to use [name_f]Faye[/name_f] because it is my cousins middle name and I don’t like [name_f]Gail[/name_f]. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe [name_f]Joy[/name_f] or [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] for the meaning? [name_f]May[/name_f]/[name_f]Mae[/name_f] or [name_u]Rae[/name_u] could also work. Or any name that begins with a G would work as well.
[name_f]Gaia[/name_f] would be interesting.
[name_u]Gael[/name_u] (gay-elle)
[name_f]Gaia[/name_f]
[name_u]Grey[/name_u]
[name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_u]Rae[/name_u]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_u]Shay[/name_u]
I also thought of the name [name_u]Gael[/name_u] (however, this would be for a boy, and pronounced “guy-ell.” Probably more usable in an area like [name_u]Texas[/name_u], with more Spanish-speakers, but a truly lovely name). For a female version of this name, I would suggest [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] (guy-a, Greek for earth mother).
I love the pp’s suggestion of [name_f]Blythe[/name_f].
You could also potentially use [name_f]Gayla[/name_f]/[name_f]Gaila[/name_f], or [name_f]Gaye[/name_f] as a middle name.
Here are some more ideas (meaning happy):
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]/[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Eda[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Edna[/name_f]
[name_f]Farah[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicia[/name_f]
[name_f]Gioia[/name_f] (joy-a)
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]

[name_f]Nara[/name_f]
[name_f]Tirzah[/name_f]
[name_f]Letitia[/name_f]
[name_f]Sachi[/name_f] (Japanese, “child of joy”)
