[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! This is more of a hypothetical post (for now!) but in the future when I hope to have children there are a few names I want to honour.
Name 1:
Tradition on my dad’s side is to have the name [name_f]Mary[/name_f] in the eldest daughter’s name somewhere. (it’s my middle name.) Problem is, I don’t really like it but I’d still love to honour it someway. Some ideas:
[name_u]Marie[/name_u]- pretty obvious- not a massive fan, feels quite basic
[name_f]Maren[/name_f]- current favourite option.
Name 2:
[name_f]My[/name_f] grandmother’s mother was called Ada-May and I’d love to honour [name_f]Ada[/name_f] somehow.
Adalie/Adalia are my current ideas.
Name 3:
[name_f]Carole[/name_f] is my grandmother’s middle name and she basically raised me so I’d love to honour her somehow. Maybe using the theme of [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]? Like [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]? But not sure if that works.
Cora/Coralie - anagrams kind of (don’t like coral/corale)
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]- too much of a stretch? Want it to be a noticeable connection.
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
A few more ideas: [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Merrily[/name_f], [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], [name_f]Maribel[/name_f], [name_f]Maris[/name_f], [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_u]Marian[/name_u]
Name two:
[name_f]Adalia[/name_f] is pretty!!
Some suggestions for Ada-May: [name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Adella[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Adelia[/name_f], [name_f]Adalind[/name_f], [name_f]Aida[/name_f], [name_f]Jada[/name_f], [name_f]Ida[/name_f], [name_f]Adelie[/name_f], [name_f]Adriana[/name_f], [name_f]Amadea[/name_f]
Name three:
I think [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] could work, especially if [name_f]Carole[/name_f] was a fan of [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]?
Name suggestions: [name_u]Caro[/name_u], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Cara[/name_f], [name_f]Carla[/name_f], [name_u]Coco[/name_u], [name_u]Cleo[/name_u], [name_u]Cadence[/name_u], [name_f]Carys[/name_f]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] is amazing! [name_u]Marion[/name_u], [name_u]Mirren[/name_u], [name_f]Marietta[/name_f] / [name_f]Mariette[/name_f], [name_f]Mae[/name_f] haven’t been mentioned yet, you might like those.
Name two
I really like [name_f]Adalia[/name_f]! You might also like [name_u]Adair[/name_u], [name_f]Adabella[/name_f] / [name_f]Adabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Adamaris[/name_f], [name_f]Jada[/name_f], [name_f]Lada[/name_f] (LAH-dah).
Name three
I think [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] is a great option! I think any Caroline-like name would work!
Thank you for all your responses! I love that you all love [name_f]Maren[/name_f]! You’ve reinforced my love for [name_f]Cora[/name_f] as well, and I’m loving adalia now as well! All the other suggestions are contenders too. Could they work as a sibset potentially? Could you imagine sisters [name_f]Maren[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f] & Adalie/Adalia (feel like [name_f]Adalie[/name_f] works slightly better with them?
[name_f]Maren[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f] & [name_f]Adalie[/name_f]. What nickname opportunities could there be?
[name_f]My[/name_f] first immediate thought is [name_f]Mairead[/name_f]! Combination of [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and the sound of [name_f]Ada[/name_f].
Then having looked at the origin of [name_f]Carole[/name_f], it was suggested it was a feminisation of [name_m]Carl[/name_m] or Charles… so how about [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]?
