oooops forgot to add poll D:
ETA - WOOOOO found the option to add.
[name_f]Lilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] are my faves but I voted for [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] it’s classic but distinctive
In order of preference:
The connection of [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] to [name_f]Lily[/name_f] seems a lot weaker to me. Yes, they share the first three letters, but they are pronounced quite differently.
Oh groovy! I was feeling maybe it had become dated in the naming community
That is very true. I guess I connected them by the letters as you said and that they are both flowers. I think I might reconsider [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] - I think I added it as I was too heart eyed about the name being suggested as I love the flower and I love painting - purples are my favourite to paint with when doing abstract expression.
While the connection with [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] is weaker, I think that the intent to honor is just as important as what the honor name is.
I voted for [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] because I think it’s the prettiest and most distinct.
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is a favourite of mine so I voted for that. I like pretty much all the [name_f]Lily[/name_f] names, especially [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] but due to the satan associations, Id never use it.
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is a favourite of mine so I voted for that. I like pretty much all the [name_f]Lily[/name_f] names, especially [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] but due to the satan associations, I’d never use it. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is a classic and you can’t go wrong with it. I love [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] too but I feel like it’s harder for a grown woman to wear and [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] is the the same.
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] to me is very common and expected. [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] is pretty but trendy. My favorite would have to be [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] because of its sounds and meaning with [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] as a second because of how uncommon it is plus it’s biblical significance.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you pronounce [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]–Leel-ya of [name_f]Lil[/name_f]-ee-ah?
[name_f]Lilac[/name_f] is my favourite. Sweet and delicate, but also quirky and unconventional.
I like the sound of [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] but it’s a controversial one, and I’m not sure it’s fair to put that on someone else, whatever your own beliefs regarding the name and its backstory.
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is a lovely solid classic, and [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] is pretty and international. But [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] is so much more fun!
Although I like [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] best of the four myself, my vote went to [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]. I think stylistically, [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] work best for you ([name_f]Lilia[/name_f] got my vote as its the one I prefer of the two). [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] is lovely, but I think [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] bridges the style gap between [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] & [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], and [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u] & [name_f]Clara[/name_f] perfectly.
[name_f]Lilac[/name_f] is beautiful - full of freshness and energy, and a lovely combination of poetry and spunk. The link with [name_f]Lily[/name_f] definitely seems clear enough to me.
I also like [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], but much prefer the more streamlined spelling [name_f]Lilian[/name_f]. [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] is pretty but a little too lacy for me, while [name_f]Lilith[/name_f] has too sombre a backstory.
My personal favourite [name_f]Lily[/name_f]-names are [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] and Lilwen.
[name_f]Lilia[/name_f], hands down! I absolutely love this name. It crosses cultures beautifully, has an upbeat sound, and is quite underused.
