Honouring Margarethe?

Okay so [name]Margarethe[/name] is a family name that I recently found out spreads across two generations of my [name]German[/name] ancestry. I am a huge fan of Pearls and I wear them all the time, so it seems slightly instinctual to consider it as a possible middle name for a future-daughter.

So here’s my list of variation or names meaning pearl:

  • Griet
  • [name]Greta[/name]
  • [name]Pearl[/name]

Are there any others that you particularly like? Thanks Berries!

I like [name]Megan[/name], [name]Margaret[/name] and [name]Gretchen[/name].

I dislike [name]Pearl[/name], but I am ok with [name]Greta[/name].

I like [name]Pearl[/name] & [name]Greta[/name]!

I’ve seen [name]Margarethe[/name] spelled [name]Margaretha[/name] also.

I would use [name]Margarethe[/name] or [name]Margaret[/name] and use [name]Greta[/name] for a nn, but I’m all about giving the kid more options. (so if she turns out to hate [name]Greta[/name], she can be a [name]Maggie[/name] or a [name]Meg[/name] or whatever)

[name]Pearl[/name] is the best of those for me.

I also like [name]Megan[/name], [name]Margaux[/name], and [name]Marguerite[/name].

I think [name]Pearl[/name] is nice but not as a first name. I really like [name]Megan[/name] too.
