A teacher that I had during high school was both a mentor and friend to me, she was there during my struggles and is such an inspiration. We both got to know each other during my time in high school and she always helped and supported me. I have always admired her and she also helped me develop my passions in writing, teaching etc. We have also become close as friends since I left school many years ago. To be honest, the impact she has had on me as a person is beyond comprehension, and I would love to honour her, if I someday have a daughter. So I am considering it both as a first or middle name.
Her name is Therésa (Th-[name]RAY[/name]-sa,) her middle name is [name]Claire[/name], so I suppose I could honour her with either name.
But what are some derivatives and ideas that could be used?
The only ones I have really considered are:
- [name]Tess[/name]/[name]Tessa[/name]
- Therése
For [name]Claire[/name]:
Anyway, do you have any ideas to add Berries?
Thank you!
I like both [name]Teresa[/name] and [name]Tereza[/name] as well as [name]Theresa[/name] (which has fallen off the Top 1000, I believe, though it occupied it from 1880 until recently… a classic out of favour…)
I prefer [name]Claire[/name] to [name]Clara[/name], honestly. Though simple blunt [name]Clare[/name] is kind of nice. I also like [name]Chiara[/name], which is a bit elaborate but beautiful. A lot of people would probably wreck the Italian pronunciation of it though.
Resa is a quite fun derivative of Therésa you could use. It works well with many of the less popular names on your list. Are you planning on honouring her with a middle name or do you want something in the first spot? I like [name]Claire[/name] as well, perhaps [name]Clara[/name] even more, but it’s a very commonly heard name compared to Therésa so most people would never get the connection, especially since it’s her middle name as well. Resa [name]Claire[/name] would be awesome ^^ [name]Thea[/name] also comes to mind, but again such an expected choice these days.
I had a teacher like that as well. I don’t talk to her anymore, but while I was in school she was amazing, helpful, understanding, a delight. I would love to use a name that honours her. She was called Ev@ [name]Linn[/name] so I was thinking [name]Evelyn[/name] which I really like, or some other Ev-name like [name]Evening[/name] or Everild, or possibly [name]Evander[/name] for a boy? I’m not even close to having children though ^^
I really like [name]Tessa[/name] and I also prefer [name]Claire[/name] to [name]Clara[/name]… [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Claire[/name] is beautiful. If you wanted a slightly more obscure way of honouring the name, [name]Luna[/name] also came to mind. Reference to [name]Clair[/name] de [name]Lune[/name], which means “moonlight.” I just think it’s quite sweet.
I like [name]Tessa[/name] & [name]Therese[/name], including [name]Reese[/name] or [name]Ray[/name] for the middle spot. But to be honest I think her actual name [name]Theresa[/name] is just as beautiful, and it would be more meaningful for you to use it as it is. Using her middle name or a variation of it is a bit too much of a stretch.
