I’m writing a story about faeries who decide to use magic to become human in order to experience true love (humans are the only species who can experience it). For one of the characters (who is completely human), the only name I could imagine on him is [name]Horace[/name]. My only concern is that people might not take him seriously with that name, especially since the story takes place in modern times. However, I do like that it is a name people will recognise, but is not popular nowadays, as it sort of helps combine the feels of old-fashioned fairy tale and modern love story (if that makes sense).
Here is a brief description of him, if it helps:
In his mid-20’s, dark hair that keeps falling over his icy blue eyes, very trusting of others, falls in love with one of the main characters (they end up having a child together but she ends up with someone else, though they remain close friends). He is from northern [name]England[/name]. He is very sweet and kind to everyone he comes in contact with, but he is also troubled and recovering from some traumatic experiences he has had.
The first name that popped into my head was [name]Henry[/name]. It’s kind of old-fashioned, and recognizable, but not completely out there.

[name]Horace[/name] is a little hard to swallow- but that’s because I associate it with names I deem “sad” ([name]Hubert[/name], [name]Humbert[/name], and [name]Horace[/name].) It could be refreshing on someone young and handsome, but then again it could give your character a different feel than intended.
I like a lot of @teresaelaine’s suggestions; especially [name]Theo[/name], [name]Julian[/name], [name]Nathan[/name], [name]Simon[/name] and [name]Victor[/name]. Maybe [name]Fitz[/name], [name]Frederick[/name], [name]Miles[/name], [name]Silas[/name] or [name]Albert[/name] would work?
