someone who works on the show Dollhouse is named [name]Miracle[/name] [name]Laurie[/name] (not a weird combo, but [name]Miracle[/name]? really?)
[name]Lyndsay[/name] and [name]Melissa[/name], those are good ones (I mean, good for this thread, of course). I’m still scratching my head over [name]Wild[/name] Freeborn, the little Girl [name]Scout[/name] I saw on the news. [name]Wild[/name] Freeborn…
I had a patient named Dreamlett. . . What the heck??
Dreamlett? Yikes. And poor little [name]Wild[/name]. I want to know why you would name your kid [name]Wild[/name] anyway, do you really want them to be wild?
Someone who works on [name]Jon[/name] and [name]Kate[/name] Plus 8 is named Serious [name]Roberts[/name]. I love reading the credits, you find so many names.
Dreamlett is hysterical! Why not just go for nugget(t) or omelet(t)?
Omelett! I laughed out loud on that one
Oh, and on the [name]Miracle[/name] note…When I worked in retail there was a lady that shopped by us named [name]Miracle[/name]. I guess she almost died when she was born so they went with [name]Miracle[/name]. I just think its SO strange as a first name. I guess I could see it as a middle name, but it just seems clunky as a first name. Plus, I bet she has to explain her story a lot!
I was in [name]Africa[/name] for two weeks this fall and there are a ton of funny English names there that I wouldn’t think of as a name. Example, I met two ladies named [name]Precious[/name] in one day. There was also [name]Honor[/name], Pride, and I think there was a [name]Miracle[/name] if I remember correctly.
It was interesting to see the difference in naming trends!
I think [name]Honor[/name] is a lovely name, especially as a middle name.
I agree, that was one I did like… I guess I wasn’t meaning to post this under the broader umbrella of bad names, more inresponse to the surprise of [name]Miracle[/name] as a name in the posts above. [name]Honor[/name], [name]Precious[/name], and Pride are similiar in that they are emotions or descriptive nouns before names.
Yes, [name]Honor[/name] for a girl is definitely a pretty and unique option!
Now that I think about it, [name]Grace[/name] probably started out the same way! This would make a good blog topic… Names that started out as something else but became common names over the years.
It was [name]Precious[/name] (and two in one day in one place) that really threw me while we were there!
After reading today’s blog entry (Welsh names), I saw [name]Olwen[/name], and was reminded of [name]Stella[/name] McCartney’s ([name]Paul[/name]'s daughter) baby girl’s initials. Her name is [name]Bailey[/name] [name]Linda[/name] [name]Olwyn[/name] [name]Willis[/name]. Blow. Her name spells blow.
Thanks for posting that [name]Jill[/name]! It actually made me laugh out loud! Blow! Ack!
I just remembered that I went to elementary school with a girl named [name]Shasta[/name] [name]Orange[/name]. I’d never tasted the stuff, but my parents thought her name was hilarious.
You’re welcome, [name]Erin[/name].
[name]Shasta[/name] [name]Orange[/name]? Are you serious! [name]Shasta[/name] [name]Orange[/name]?! Okay. The shock has worn off, and now I have the giggles.
I went to school with a girl named [name]Leslie[/name] Woodard. Not that bad, right? But then she married a guy with the surname Boner and hyphenated her name. So…[name]Leslie[/name] Woodard-Boner.
Ooh, poor Mrs. Woodard-Boner, I definitely would have chosen one or the other.
I was watching House Hunters and there was a couple whose last name was [name]Lily[/name], and the wife’s first name was [name]Lily[/name]. [name]Lily[/name] [name]Lily[/name], can you imagine that? I would definitely have kept my last name if I were her!
[name]Lilly[/name] [name]Lilly[/name] is pretty funny. I remember when the host of trading spaces, [name]Paige[/name] something got married, she kept her maiden name because her husband’s LN was [name]Page[/name].
I know a [name]Paige[/name] who became [name]Paige[/name] [name]Turner[/name] when she married.
[name]Paige[/name] [name]Turner[/name], hehe, I hope she was an avid reader!
This isn’t really the same, but my mom’s female cousin [name]Robin[/name] married a man named [name]Robin[/name]. [name]Robin[/name] and [name]Robin[/name]… that’s one of the reasons I don’t like unisex names.
