I love August for both, the only reason that my August is going to be a girl, is because the combo came together so perfectly.
Edit: I shouldâve said that the perfect combo was the deciding factor, not the only reason.

Names that nameberry seems to deem as âboringâ (the ones Iâm thinking of are Peter and Timothy, both of which are on my list) are just so wearable and really darn sweet. I just feel like common names are a bit underappreciated, thatâs all.
i agree! peter and especial tomorrow are just so cozy and sweet. (side note: i sort of feel like nameberry only appreciates âboringâ classic names if theyâre associated with some form of classic literature. i know this isnât totally true, but i think it definitely plays a huge role in which âclassicâ names berries like. ((i know it definitely does for me)).
theyâre just so wholesome and cozy
i wuv them
as a new berry i think itâs really weird theyâd be deemed as boring, because they fit right in with the vintage classic vibe that a lot of berries (Me) love!
@may.rose I didnât know they were often considered âboringâ! I adore them, even if not for my personal lists, but they give me [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] the Pooh type vibes
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] & [name_u]Timothy[/name_u] are in my top 5 for boys! I agree that more common names donât get much love here on nameberry.
I think the nicknames [name_m]Pete[/name_m] and [name_m]Tim[/name_m] put people off [name_m]Peter[/name_m] & [name_u]Timothy[/name_u]. Especially [name_m]Pete[/name_m], of all the classical literature characters [name_m]Peter[/name_m] Rabbit, [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Pan[/name_m], [name_m]Peter[/name_m] Pevenise (from the [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] series) none of the characters are shortened to [name_m]Pete[/name_m].
iam just curious of how people here succeed to make creative combos while me stuck with classic ones like clara adelaide:
[name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] looks like you were trying to spell [name_f]Adriane[/name_f] but things went wrong
I know theyâre different Goddesses, but it also makes me think of [name_f]Arachne[/name_f] which makes me think of spiders.
actually itâs the other way around
oh actually youre right
Sometimes, itâs not exactly appropriation, itâs just that the name sounds⌠out of placeâŚ?
Or perhaps anarchyâŚ
Some nicknames yâall come up with sound like the bearer dislikes the name and needed something different to go by
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] just make me think of oats lmao
I canât stand [name_m]Felix[/name_m]? I donât get the appeal at all, when I hear it itâs just âFeelâ
