How about Daphne?

I am crushing on little [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] at the moment! What is your opinion on her? I think she fits well with my front runner, [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]. A draw back I find with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is her lack of a great nickname.

What’s your overall opinion on [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]?

Thank you!

I adore it and it has a fun Scooby Doo reference. [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is quite the brainy crime solver in the latest version.

I really like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]! It’s grown on me more and more as time goes by, when I first came across it I wasn’t a big fan. I like [name_u]Daffy[/name_u] as a nickname, I think it’s sweet.

I like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] a lot! Correct me if I misunderstand what you mean by [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] being your front runner, but I think they’re too similar sounding for sisters.

I’m not a fan, sorry! I also think [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] are too similar to possibly be sisters.

Love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]! Gentle and old fashioned, but with some sass too.

But I do agree that [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] would be rather close for sisters.

So sorry, but I don’t personally care for [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. Same goes for [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], which is a shame bc I love the nn [name_f]Bee[/name_f]!

Delphine is much more sophisticated and I think usable.

I like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]! Fresh and quirky.

Dani, [name_f]Dee[/name_f] or DD could be a nicknames or you could do something like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] ‘DJ’

I really admire both [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]! They both feel super cute for a tiny baby, spunky enough for a young girl, and sophisticated enough for a serious yet relatable adult woman. To me, [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is slightly more elegant than the slightly more eccentric [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], but definitely in the same league. I go back and forth on which one I prefer, but today I’m feeling [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], perhaps because sometimes [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]’s pronunciation trips me up. (DEL-feen v. del-FEEN?)

Love it love it love it

I really like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]! [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] are very close for sisters unfortunately. But both are stunning names!

@Nameyname It’s del-FEEN

@futuremama Thanks for clarifying! I do wish Nameberry would add pronunciation guides to the name page info :slight_smile:
