Can I suggest [name]Thisbe[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]?

I do like it also, but [name]Clementine[/name] and [name]Mae[/name] are a bit M heavy I think. And we want to keep the [name]Mae[/name].

Since you’re having twins what about each of you getting to pick the fn of one?

I voted for [name]Thisbe[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Mae[/name]. I love that, although I have to admit I love [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Thisbe[/name] [name]Mae[/name] even more. I just find [name]Aurora[/name] more usable (okay, and safer!) up front, and I am in love with the idea of a little girl named [name]Aurora[/name]. (Too bad it doesn’t work with my surname, or I’d snatch it up straightaway!) If it’s between these two options only, my vote goes to [name]Thisbe[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Mae[/name] (Isby is so cute!), although my heart lies with [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Thisbe[/name] [name]Mae[/name].

Good luck!

I actually like them both. I know I have had to compromise a lot with names when it comes to choosing something with my DH, stinks, but I figure its part his baby so he gets a say lol. Maybe come to a compromise where you can both use names you like, I am sure whatever is chosen it will be beautiful and fit her just finel

Sorry, I made it a tie! I like [name]Clementine[/name], but [name]Thisbe[/name] has this appeal about it as a first name … I was drawn to it, and I love [name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Mae[/name] as middle names, so [name]Thisbe[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Mae[/name] just seemed like the one to choose for me <3

I voted [name]Thisbe[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Mae[/name]. I love [name]Aurora[/name]! Not the biggest fan of [name]Thisbe[/name] though sorry.

I can’t see [name]Clementine[/name] without thinking of the fruit or the song… sorry. I voted for [name]Thisbe[/name]. NMS, but I like it better than [name]Clementine[/name].

[name]How[/name] strongly does he dislike it? If he hates it I would find a compromise because I’m not sure I would want to use a name my partner despised that much.

I vastly prefer [name]Thisbe[/name] over [name]Clementine[/name]!

Good luck!

His reasoning is that it’s “weird”. Because our boys have fairly strong, normal names, and I think he feels that a little Isby would be out of place amongst her big brothers classic names, as well as our own. You know introducing our family as, [name]Jack[/name], [name]Pollyanna[/name], [name]Edward[/name], [name]Maxwell[/name], [name]August[/name], [name]Leopold[/name] (his choice for a boy) and [name]Thisbe[/name]. I’ve tried to pull the literary card and that is an “old” name but it doesn’t seem to be working, yet. He doesn’t absolutely hate it or anything it’s just not a name that he is “drawn” to.

I like the suggestion of both of us naming one twin each… He wants [name]Leopold[/name] nn [name]Leo[/name] for a boy, and I’m not a huge fan so we might get both of wishes

Thanks for voting and the feedback berries!
[name]Polly[/name]

[name]Aurora[/name] is one of my all time favorite names. It irks me how popular it’s becoming. Thus [name]Thisbe[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Mae[/name] got my vote. You can also always pull the “she’ll stand out regardless, she’s the only girl” card along with the literary card.

I have to agree with your DH sorry. [name]Thisbe[/name] sounds weird to me too. [name]Way[/name] to close to frisbee. For that reason I voted [name]Clementine[/name].
[name]How[/name] about:
[name]Teddy[/name], [name]Gus[/name], [name]Max[/name], [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Mae[/name]?
[name]Magnolia[/name] nn [name]Mae[/name] You could use [name]Thisbe[/name] in the middle- [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Thisbe[/name] nn [name]Mae[/name].

Not crazy about [name]Clementine[/name] or [name]Thisbe[/name] but they’re both nice. [name]Clementine[/name] fits best with the boys’ names. However I also feel that opposite gender sib names don’t have to “fit”. I like when they are different styles and since she’ll be the only girl that’s all the more reason to give her a stand out name. [name]Thisbe[/name] goes nicely with your set

Since [name]Thisbe[/name] is the weirder of the two, I’d go with the compromise of [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Thisbe[/name] [name]Mae[/name] but only call her [name]Thisbe[/name]

I like [name]Thisbe[/name] very much, so I’m voting [name]Thisbe[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Mae[/name]. I like the whole [name]Pyramus[/name] & [name]Thisbe[/name] story, although it’s tragic.
However, if your partner doesn’t like the name, I wouldn’t use it.

[name]Aurora[/name] won me over, so I voted [name]Thisbe[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Mae[/name]. Still not sold on [name]Thisbe[/name] though.

I’m sorry, but I can’t get the image of a frisbee out of my head when I hear [name]Thisbe[/name]. So I voted [name]Clementine[/name].

I am really really not a fan of [name]Thisbe[/name]…not least because I think it’d be a very tough name to answer to at school…
It isn’t even a name which people recognise, or will have heard before. That could be tough…

That said, I adore [name]Clementine[/name]! And the flow of [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Thisbe[/name] is lovely

I didn’t vote, but your post made me think of this post http://www.nancy.cc/2011/09/27/baby-name-persuasion-using-reciprocation/ She discusses strategies for convincing your SO. I remember reading more on her site so if you click around a bit you might find a few more “strategies”.
