I wrote a long response to this but then I saw your last post and I am SO PROUD OF YOU FOR SPEAKING UP!!! I know you love him, and I hope you don’t find me too bold for saying this, but sometimes the people we love act like jerks about certain things, and your husband was absolutely being a jerk about this.
Please stand your ground on this: don’t name her [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] (at least not as a first name, it’s fair to keep it as a middle). You don’t like the name, you’ve already settled twice, and there’s no reason to make yourself miserable just to make him happy (again). Doing whatever he wants you to do is not compromise, it’s just doing what he wants you to do. I’m really glad you reached an agreement about it.
I want you to know this as well: you being upset is NOT just pregnancy hormones. Your feelings on this were and still are valid. Choose a first name that makes you smile when you say it, a name you’ve always liked or feel comfortable saying. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is a lovely choice, and don’t be afraid to ask Nameberry for help choosing later on when you narrow down the options :).
I’m glad you spoke up and that DH is being flexible!
Not surprisingly, I think [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] is gorgeous. And I like [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] even better!
I named my daughter [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] in large part because of all of the nickname options. It’s a classic but at the same time each [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] can put her own personality stamp on the name.
BUT – you must love your daughter’s name. If [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] doesn’t do it for you, fair enough!
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] is also lovely, and I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names are gorgeous: [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], etc. Maybe one of them for the middle?
I was in a similar boat with my son. We announced his name, had it personalized on things, and even had the “pre” birth certificate form filled out. When we were just a few weeks away, I started second guessing it. I grown to not really love it but since we did all that I just went with it. 4 years later, I wish I listened to my gut and just said NO were picking a different name. You definitely want to name them something you love and don’t mind saying a thousand times, lol!! My third son, I couldn’t commit to a name until 2 days after he was born. I just went with my all time favorite and I have no regrets and [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it. If you can find a nickname for [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] you love then its a win win. But I say don’t settle. Maybe a compromise of [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Irene[/name_f] with one of your favorites.
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], [name_u]Haven[/name_u] [name_f]Beth[/name_f], [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f], [name_f]Alina[/name_f] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elisa[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f], [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f]. Good luck!!
I think [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f] suits siblings [name_u]Aleks[/name_u] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] much nicer than [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. I can’t put my finger on why, but it’s almost like the names already sound like siblings— the three complement each other extremely well. [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] has an international flair that matches [name_u]Aleks[/name_u]’ and [name_m]Leo[/name_m]'s flair tremendously well.
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] sounds really nice with [name_u]Aleks[/name_u] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m]! (Its not as long as Aleksander and not as short as [name_m]Leo[/name_m], it’s just right )
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is also really beautiful, especially that spelling!
My mother had the same problem with me. My dad’s family had a long history of naming the kids after the grandparents (they’re Greek) and it was assumed I would be named after his mother. My mother gave in and agreed even though she hated the name. They even signed the birth certificate with that name. However the feeling that she hated the name became so overwhelming that just before my baptism (about 3 months old) my mother had my name changed to something she wanted instead. It wasn’t easy I’m sure for her, my dad or my grandmother/dad’s family at the time but I promise it was worth it. And I promise everybody gets over it and it just becomes a funny family story.
Also I’m super glad she changed it because I personally detest my “original” name though I know many may like it (it was [name_f]Athina[/name_f] btw).
Anyways good luck, and remember that just because something is hard to do doesn’t make it any less worth doing.
The thing that worries me about [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] is popularity ( and yes I know [name_u]Alex[/name_u]/[name_u]Aleks[/name_u] is super popular but that’s what happens when DH picks the name lol) it’s listed like 148 I think but a few Google searches yield [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] as a “name more popular than you think”. I know [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] isn’t really popular but I think I agree that stylistically [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] fits better with DS’ names. I don’t think she’d have another [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] in her class but she might have another [name_f]Juliana[/name_f], and almost probably another [name_f]Maddie[/name_f]/[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]/[name_f]Madelyn[/name_f] in her class.
Is it better to go with [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] bc of popularity reasons or [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] because it fits in better with her sib names? As you can see, I tend to way overthink names lol
I think they all work well with DS’s names. Choose your favorite. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t let the fact that someone might think one of them works slightly better with the boy’s names distract you. The bottom line is which one makes you excited? Choose your favorite. Ignore the noise.

Oh my goodness this thread is the happiest thing I’ve read all day!!! So excited to see a positive outcome.
I prefer [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], and I agree with a pp that it’s the perfect match with [name_u]Aleks[/name_u] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. I love [name_m]Leo[/name_m] btw!
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Irene[/name_f] is lovely. Also I like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. I am so happy you stood up for yourself!
I agree with the person who said “ignore the noise” and go with what you truly [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]. Go with what makes you smile! (Assuming you can get DH on board lol.) It seems like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] might be that name?
I 100% agree with this. I think you should definitely, 100% go with the name that makes YOU happiest this time. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] are both lovely choices, and you should choose the one you like the best and that makes you happiest to say. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] also both go fabulously with your sons’ names. Can’t go wrong with either :).
Both [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliana[/name_f] are beautiful names and both go really well with your sons’ names. I’m so glad that you’re finding your own voice in this. I wouldn’t worry about the popularity of either of those - they’re not anywhere near top 50 names, and even if one of them eventually does become more popular it doesn’t matter really. Go with whichever one makes you feel joy.
I like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], but don’t settle for [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] if you don’t like it as much! I think all three work with your other children just fine.
As far as popularity, I don’t think #150ish for [name_f]Julianna[/name_f] is really as common as you think. You could also try checking the popularity in your state, as it may vary somewhat from the national averages. For reference my name was #250 the year I was born and I have NEVER met someone my age, not even same generation, with the same name.
