How do you feel about the name Caston?

I was a fan of [name_m]Castor[/name_m], until my friend brought up the oil now that’s been thrown out. Now we’re debating Caston, and I personally really like the sound of it. I’m a fan of names ending in -ton because I feel like it adds a certain strength, and I love the nickname [name_m]Cas[/name_m] for a boy. The only thing I’d be worried about is people pronouncing it like [name_m]Gaston[/name_m] from Beauty and the Beast…it’s supposed to be pronounced [name_m]Cas[/name_m]-tin. Thoughts?

I like it and I love the nn [name_m]Cas[/name_m]! I agree that like most uncommon names, people will most likely pronounce it incorrectly occasionally.

I prefer Castien to get to the nn [name_m]Cas[/name_m] and [name_m]Cassiel[/name_m] is an option as well.

I’ve never heard it before, but I like it.

Immediately thought of [name_m]Castor[/name_m]. Like the oil.

I thought of castor oil and then [name_m]Gaston[/name_m]. Not a fan. Doesn’t seem like a name to me

Not a big fan personally. I think of either [name_m]Gaston[/name_m] or a broken arm in a cast. [name_m]Cas[/name_m] is a cute nn but I feel there are better options that come with that nn.

The pronunciation isn’t obvious to me (long a or short a?). Also I have a hard time getting behind any name that ends in n, especially
-ton as I feel that is a worn out trend best left behind in the 00’s. But I didn’t think of castor oil.

It feels like a bastardization of [name_m]Castor[/name_m] to me, I’m not a fan. I like [name_m]Castor[/name_m] despite the oil, but if it’s truly a no-go for you then I’d go with [name_m]Caspar[/name_m], [name_m]Cassius[/name_m], [name_m]Cassian[/name_m] or [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] to get to nn [name_m]Cas[/name_m]. Or just call him [name_u]Cass[/name_u]/[name_m]Cas[/name_m] - I think it could be a cool standalone name.
