How do you feel about

[name_m]Julian[/name_m] as a girl’s name?

I like boyish names for girls, and I think this would be really cute.

Tell me if you strongly disagree

I’m not a huge fan, I think there are other [name_m]Julian[/name_m] variants ([name_u]Jules[/name_u], [name_f]Julienne[/name_f]) that work much better on girls.

As far as the boys-names-on-girls trend goes, though, [name_m]Julian[/name_m]'s not a bad choice. It has the more ambiguous -an ending, and feels reminiscent of names like [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] and [name_u]Vivian[/name_u].

[name_m]Julian[/name_m] was a female name in the middle ages. ([name_m]Julian[/name_m] of Norwich was a famous example). I think it sounds great but personally I wouldn’t actually use it for a first name for a girl now as it has become exclusively male in usage. I do like many other unisex names though for current use.

eta [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] is a variant of [name_m]Julian[/name_m], and [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] was once a male name.

I don’t mind it one bit, and I love the nickname [name_u]Jules[/name_u]. I think I prefer it to [name_u]Julianne[/name_u]/[name_f]Julienne[/name_f]/[name_f]Juliana[/name_f].
