I don’t know what the upside down e’s sound like, but I pronounce it Uh-lye-zuh. I know an Eliza, so that’s where I get my pronunciation from.
I pronounce it ee-ly-zuh
It is called a schwa. Schwa Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster
ə = the sound of the A in about, sofa, alone
uh lie zuh
[name_f]El[/name_f]-eye-zuh
Uh-lee-zuh
Probably the one only one that pronounces it like this, but to me it sounds right
Either uh-lye-zuh or ee-lye-zuh, depending on how lazy my tongue is being.
uh-lie-zuh
I say Uh-LIE-zuh.
Eh-lie-zuh
I adore this name
If I enunciate properly, I pronounce it like ee-LIE-zuh, but since the emphasis is on the second syllable and not the first, the “ee” often comes out more like “ih.” It feels more natural that way.
ə-LIE-zə
I wasn’t aware there was more than one way to pronounce it.
Ee-Lie-Zuh
Cool, thanks! My phone doesn’t have those, which is kind of disappointing. The first one is how I pronounce it, but almost with more of an uh sound at the beginning.
Eh-lie-zə for me
uh-lye-zuh
(distinctly different from [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], which I pronounce uh-liz-ah-beth)
eh-liy-zə is the only way I’ve heard.
ee-ly-za is how I say it
This is how I say it as well. Beautiful name, by the way!
