I do think [name]Amelie[/name] will be constantly mistaken for [name]Emily[/name], which is unfortunate as it is a lovely name.
As for [name]Margot[/name], there aren’t many longer forms I can think of. I know of [name]Marjorie[/name] and [name]Margherita[/name], and some short but related names I know of are [name]Rita[/name] (which I [name]LOVE[/name]) and [name]Pearl[/name].

When I hear [name]Amelie[/name], I think of a little French girl in a beret eating a croissant at a cafe.

I have a personal association with the name [name]Rosalie[/name]. The [name]Rosalie[/name] I know is an artsy DJ who like to wear bright colors and crazy glasses.

When I hear [name]Margot[/name], I think of [name]Gwyneth[/name] Paltrow in The [name]Royal[/name] Tenenbaums.
