Which syllable gets the emphasis? Please capitalize this syllable.
I like this name written but I need to know more!
Thanks.

Well I think of the town and it is pronounced [name]ABBA[/name]-lean. My family is from [name]Abilene[/name],KS and so that is how we all pronounce it. [name]Hope[/name] that helps.
[name]ABBA[/name]-leen. I think of the city in [name]Texas[/name], not Kansas. I think if you use place names you should think of what the place is like - I’ve never been to [name]Abilene[/name], KS, but I wouldn’t name a daughter after [name]Abilene[/name], TX if you paid me (no offense meant, I’m a native Texan!) - you can get [name]Abby[/name] and [name]Lena[/name] from other names.
Upon seeing it, I pronounced it ‘[name]Ab[/name]-Ill-LEEN’, actually…
The first two syllables are like [name]Abigail[/name], and the last is as in [name]Eileen[/name]. Emphasis and rhythm is same as in [name]Abigail[/name] – and yes, that’s like the city in [name]Texas[/name].
[name_m]ABEL[/name_m]-EEN like on The Help. I really love this name x
[name_m]AB[/name_m]-uh-leen
[name_m]Abb[/name_m]-e-leen
[name_m]Ab[/name_m]-Eh-LEEN.
I’m in [name_u]Texas[/name_u], so I’m with the [name_m]AB[/name_m]-uh-leens.
[name_m]AB[/name_m]-uh-leen, first syllable like [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]. Makes me think of [name_u]Texas[/name_u] (the city) and oysters (abalone).
