How do you pronounce Ada?

I’m not interested in using it myself but I’m very curious as to the spelling and pronunciation. A character from a book I read recently named her daughter [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and I wasn’t sure how to say it in my mind lol.

Ay-duh
Ay as in rhyming with may

Ay-duh, the same as above

I pronounced it like add-uh for years because I associated it with the character Atta from A Bug’s Life. I’m just starting to be able to say it ay-duh in my head but the pronuciation that comes out of my mouth depends on my mood. Right now, I’d probably say add-uh. Both proncuations are technically legit but add-uh is used more as a nickname.

It was my mother’s childhood nn and i also met a young woman named Ada (short for Alexandra), both pronounced it as uh-duh. Though keep in mind that they both have it as a nickname, so the pronunciation might be different as a stand alone.

I have a relative who pronounces it Ay-duh.

I have only ever heard Aye-duh

I would pronounce it Ay-duh

Depends in what language, but I say Ay-duh in English.

I’ve only ever heard ay-duh.

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be ay-duh or add-uh so I’m glad I asked

I say Ay-duh (ay rhyming with say).

I’ve only ever seen it in online baby name forums, I always read it as [name_m]ADD[/name_m]-uh.

I’ve always read it as [name_m]Ad[/name_m]-uh, and [name_f]Aida[/name_f] as Ay-duh.
