How do you pronounce ariadne?

I love the pronunciation of [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] in my native language, but I’m very curious how you would pronounce it in [name_f]English[/name_f]!

Native US, midwestern dialect here.

Air-ee-odd-knee or Air-ee-add-knee are my natural inclinations.

Makes me think of [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] from Poirot.

I’m southern US and my instinct is air-ee-AHD-nee

I’m Greek, so I’d say ah-ree-AH-dnee! It’s the most similar to the Greek pronunciation while also adapting to the sounds of the [name_f]English[/name_f] language!

I say “Air - ee - add - nee”.

a-ree-ad-nee

guide, in wanted/needed

(a like the sound in apple or bat)
(ree rhyming with see)
(ad rhyming with had / like the beginning advert)
(nee rhyming with see or like knee)

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]! I pronounce it Air-ee-add-nay or sometimes Arr-ee-add-nay
(I also just hear [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] [name_u]Lane[/name_u] singing [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] from the musical The Frogs every time I see the name which is a very niche and unlikely reference)
