Like AV as in Avenue or have, so “AV Leen” technically I guess it could be “AV eh Leen” but if you say “av leen” I think the “e” can be heard. Heres an audio link Pronunciations for aveline (from Claude Aveline to Claude Aveline)

Actually none of the above, I would pronounce it av-ah-leen. It’s pretty

I say it as AYV-uh-leen, the ‘ayv’ sound rhyming with [name]Dave[/name]. I also like it with the ‘LYNE’ ending.

I think any of them are correct, though, except maybe like ayv-uh-lyn or av-uh-lyn. I don’t get the whole line = lyn thing.

Regardless, I think [name]Aveline[/name] is very pretty.

I pronounce it av-uh-line but I say the AV part like in [name]Ava[/name]

Maybe in the US it’s acceptable to say it differently with an “ay” sound instead of “av”? I’ve never heard it like [name]Ava[/name] just the French way.

This has been one of my favorite names for a couple years now ^^ I pronounce it the French way, like ah-vah-LEEN. Though Avalina is a name I would potentially use for a daughter, and would pronounce it av-ah-[name]LEE[/name]-nah, the first A sounding like the a in cat, rather than the A in all.

I have always said it AV (as in avenue) - UH- LEEN.
I may be wrong, but that’s always how I thought it was pronounced .

I don’t think saying it AY is an American thing, I’ll just be the first to admit I know absolutely nothing about French names or how to say them  with the [name]AH[/name] sound, since I know that’s how it’s traditionally said now, is very pretty also
