[name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce the name [name_m]Avidan[/name_m]?
The correct pronunciation is ah-vee-dahn and that’s how I would pronounce it for a son. I’d also probably call him “[name_u]Danny[/name_u]” but pronounced as “dah-nee”. Would you catch on to this if you knew him? [name_m]How[/name_m] hard would it be for others to pronounce his name?? Thank you in advance
I’d say it like AW-vih-den. The first syllable would be more like “ah ha” than like “[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]”. I’m curious what the emphasis would be on for the correct pronunciation?
I would say it as you have listed, [name_m]AH[/name_m]-vee-dahn, though I wonder if I’m correct in putting the emphasis on that first syllable? It depends on where you are I suppose, though I imagine many might be quite confused with the pronunciation, maybe saying something like AVV-ih-dann, AYV-ih-duhn or avv-EE-duhn, or perhaps mistake it altogether for [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] (of which it is only a single letter off).
I think it’s a really nice name though, and [name_u]Danny[/name_u] makes for a great nickname (though I do think that maybe spelling it [name_u]Dani[/name_u], might make it easier for people to grasp as dah-nee).
Any more thoughts?
I have never come across this name before.
I would naturally pronounce [name_m]Avidan[/name_m] as “av” (like have) - ih - din.
If you want to,pronounce the name/nn that way, suggest spelling it [name_m]Donny[/name_m].
