I know a [name]Calder[/name] and everyone pronounces his name like you do, Call-der. I am not very good with suggestions but I really like [name]Calder[/name] [name]Ephraim[/name] because they both have the same feel if that makes any sense.
I’d pronounce it call-der, first syllable rhyming with ball, but I can understand how it could be said as cal-der, rhyming with pal, giving nn [name]Cal[/name].
I like [name]Calder[/name] [name]Ezra[/name] best of your combos.
Looks like I’m in the minority- I’d say [name]CAL[/name]-der. I think the pronunciation just varies with your accent.
I like [name]Calder[/name] [name]Ezra[/name] the most from your list, but the 2-2 syllable flow isn’t quite right with these two. [name]How[/name] about:
I love [name]Calder[/name]! I believe it is CALL-der, that’s how [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Calder[/name] pronounces it. I think you could still use [name]Cal[/name] as a nn, though–it’s right in there, and people use [name]Cal[/name] as a nn for [name]Caleb[/name] (which makes even less sense, imo), and [name]Evie[/name] (EEvee) for [name]Evelyn[/name] (EVuhlin), so I don’t see why not.
My son is named [name]Calder[/name] and we pronounce it Call-der. Some other people mispronounce it and call him Colder, which I don’t really get, but they struggle (shrug). [name]Even[/name] though we don’t use the nickname [name]Cal[/name] (like pal), I think you totally could. We joke when he’s a teenager we’ll call him Der (like Duuhr). Congrats! No suggestions on middle name, except that you might want to choose an easy one because people find [name]Calder[/name] challenging. I love [name]Ephraim[/name], but it would be unusual too…
